2022 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
A lush grove of bamboo marks the entrance to Hyatt Regency Kyoto in Higashiyama Shichijo, a leafy district suffused with the elegance of the old capital. Our team of expert concierges carefully curates tours and programs that offer insight into Japanese culture, meeting the needs of business and leisure travelers alike. The Rooms: Modern taste meets traditional style here, with artful hangings of antique kimono fragments and the soft light of paper lamps. The Locale: Even within historic Kyoto, Higashiyama is notable for its rich past as home to the imperial court. The Flavors: Three restaurants offer Italian cuisine, exquisite kaiseki feasts, and grilled specialties prepared in a wood-burning oven. The Possibilities: A 40-meter surround screen and live web-based projection enable event planners to immerse their guests in the experience. The Treatments: Seasoned therapists deliver Eastern healing traditions like shiatsu, acupuncture, and moxibustion at Riraku Spa.

Much better than anticipated. From start to finish, the staff went out of their way to accommodate. The Italian restaurant in particular was spectacular; a proper Italian experience with the best gnocchi I have had in a long time. Chef even made a custom Gorgonzola sauce for me. Would love to see the addition of EV charging and maybe some decaf coffee options in the rooms in the future. Bakery, pastries, and spa were all top notch. Will definitely be back.

This place is super comfortable, staff greet you everywhere, and the food is *amazing*. The food is a tad expensive for Kyoto but worth every penny (yen?). Only negative thing is that staff called the room phone when I had the "do not disturb" light turned on, specifically to tell me that the "do not disturb" light is on and that they can't come replace our towels. Why do you think I turned it on? Don't disturb me. Drop the towels by the door or just come back later...

We just spent 2 weeks at the Hyatt Regency Kyoto and it was fantastic. As a Marriott Titanium member who got “Bonvoy’d” one too many times, I decided to switch to Hyatt for 2022 and I have not been disappointed. The staff of the hotel and the 3 attached restaurants (Cafe 33, Trattoria Sette and Touzan) have been outstanding. I was greeted by name regularly when passing hotel staff in the halls. The modern and well appointed room were kept immaculately clean. What else can I say? Even the parking lot was clean. Some other reviewers have complained about the hotel’s proximity to Kyoto attractions. I don’t know what these people are talking about. The hotel is well situated and has good access on foot, by bus and even subway to the rest of the city. It is always attended by taxis and they have bikes for guest use as well. I’m very glad I chose this hotel for my trip to Kyoto and I know where I’ll be staying next time. To all the hotel staff who made our stay a memorable one: 優しくしてて、毎日ワーキングスペースまで備えてくれて誠にありがとうございました!

We stayed in Kyoto Hyatt for five days. We received very good service from the hotel staff that was among the best, even when compared with top Ryokan. We lost two pieces of clothing during our stay and hotel mailed back to us when they were found. The room was clean and bed was comfortable 京都ハイアットに5日間滞在しました。ホテルスタッフからとても良いサービスを受けました。 滞在中に2点の衣類を紛失し、見つかったときにホテルから郵送されました。 部屋はきれいだったし、ベッドは快適だった

We stayed at Hyatt Regency Kyoto because it was within walking distance to catch up with friends plus the subway for a trip to Kibune. We stayed 2 nights and although we didn’t eat in, we loved the room over the garden with windows open, the bed so comfy and the bath so nice after a day’s walkabout.
