The bus stop is nearby and 7-11 is 400m away, but the closest supermarket is 1km away. The room space is excellent, comparing to other housing in Kyoto. The hotel office only open in the daytime, and they don't have elevator. In the overall review, this is a good housing, but if visitors would like to explore the Japanese night...

I found this location after having to change my plans last minuet and I couldn't have been happier! Giant room given I was a solo traveller with everything one could need for a longer stay and access to a computer for those who would also need this. Very pleasant staff who not only took my bags in previous to check...

Basically what you'd expect for the money, clean and spacious enough, average decor, desk and computer in each room. In a reasonable location if you want to take the bus, bit harder to walk to places from. The staff speak great English and there is free WiFi.

Big and clean room with friendly receptionists. I bought pass for the three day stays at Kyoto so travel from the station to this inn is not a problem. I will recommend my friends to live here if they have chance to stay in Kyoto.

We stayed here 5 nights and it was a very pleasant stay. The room was clean, quiet, with a little balcony and a computer (Japanese O/S). There was a little kitchen and separate shower and toilet which was good. Location is a bit tricky: while it is close to the main train station and just minutes' walk from two of...

Please note the bus stop for 206 to the guesthouse from Kyoto station is more or less in front of you as you come out! There was a very friendly Japanese volunteer who speaks English and will direct you to it if you can't find the bus stop. Really great room for the price. One of the largest rooms in...

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
