The hotel is rather convenient and located less than 10 minutes away from Kyoto Station down a straight path if you choose not to use the hotel shuttle. The hotel lobby seems to be newly decorated and was welcoming. However, the room we booked was not very impressive. Compared to the renovated lobby, the room (Superior Twin on the Kyoto-style Floor) was dated. Service at check-in and check-out were great, but a let-down at other times. I tried calling the front desk via the in-room phone on my first evening and never got through even once — I called at least 4 times at different times. Interestingly, I accidentally dialed for room service once and it was immediately picked up. Overall, not a hotel that I would visit again when I'm in Kyoto.
I stayed 6 nights and thought it was an excellent hotel. Rooms are very big for Japan, beds very comfortable. Room service was excellent, very speedy and efficient. Breakfast was good, albeit the same selection every day gets tiring (for shorter stays it’s no issue). Location is brilliant, 7 - 10 mins walk from Kyoto station. Staff were very helpful. Very much enjoyed my stay here.
Fair feeling but I will no revisit again. Overall I can only sleep 4 hours per night, unfortunately and uncomfortably The hotel interior is so old. The rooms are dry that I could catch sore throat, even I turned on the humidifier. Staff doesn’t speak English, but fair
Very good sized rooms. Very comfortable beds. Good air conditioning. Very thin walls though. Restaurant breakfast excellent. Good location to explore Kyoto. Only negative is shower temperature fluctuates a lot in the morning will everyone using water.
A few minutes from Kyoto station, free parking and has many restaurants inside. Breakfast was to die for, many vegetable dishes as tipical in Kyoto but every item was prepared so well. I'm glad I included breakfast for our stay. I'll definitely stay here again. Staff were very accommodating as well.
Convenient Location . Hotel staff did not seem to be friendly. When I checked in, they asked for upfront payment for my stay of 4 nights which was unexpected. General practice is to pay during check-out. Staff struggled with English. Storage space in room was literally non-existent . Breakfast at Kaza Restaurant was only good point of stay. There is no kids space. My pre schooler son was very bored in hotel on a rainy day. Not a kid friendly hotel.
Spent 3 nights with my family but never coming back again ! Overall services were terrible, awful, worst in my life ... the porter didn’t help to carry our luggages to the room checking in, and to put them into my car after checking out either. The bellboy was just looking at us nearby. Our reservation of the stay was actually split by two and erroneously two different room types were reserved. At the check in, we were asked if we want to move rooms over the stay in accordance with my reservation or do downgrade to stay at the same room - first time to be offered room downgrade. I asked the reception “rooms are fully booked, that’s why you are requesting so, right ?” she said “no, but...”. It was mid-March 2020, imagine. Took almost 30 min for check in. We didn’t feel any hospitality by the staff over the stay at all and therefore, were totally disappointed at the staffs attitudes. I had a chance to speak with the hotel manager over the phone at home after check out and complained with all the above incidents but he said “show me the proof”. He never apologized till the end - the manager’s reaction represents the hotel’s philosophy.…
For the price hotel is a luxury one , we stayed here as transit to osaka for one night with my family . The shuttle service is great to the main station and the food is awesome . Didn’t get enough time to explore the hotel but it seems like has plenty of it to offer . Service was superb with someone escorting to our room and explaining everything .
Stay here for 3 nights booked through hotels.com included ABF The reason we book this hotel cause it close to Kyoto station with free shutter bus. The price consider high with all additional charge for the using hotel facilities such as swimming pool and gym. Our room located quite far from the elevator with very long long corridor. Breakfast almost the same dishes everyday. We had been asked for the charging of the bottles of drinking water in room even there were a hotel logo at the bottles. The hotel staffs told us that there is no complimentary drinking water in room. We was really disappointed that the big hotel like this has no provide complimentary drinking water. For the entire trip in Japan, this was the first hotel that we been charged for the bottles of drinking water in room.…
The gym is very small with just a few machines: two treadmills, two stationary bicycles, and a weight machine. I used my green ticket to use the gym for one day. If I want to use the gym again I have to pay. Overall though it is a good hotel. I usually stay here. It is in a convenient location close to the station.
