This hotel is very convenient if you are visiting Kyoto for a short time. Our room had a small spider web in it, and the cleaning staff removed it and re-cleaned the room. The hotel is very convenient to the famous Kyoto station and makes it very easy to access local shrines and other sites around town. The hotel is...

It is the first time I live in this hotel. The hotel is near the train station, convenient to take train, take bus. There is a mall nearby, although not very big, but the supermarket is worth to walk around. But since it is located in the south of Kyoto station, it is quiet. If you like quiet, you can...

Room as expected, smalll but clean. This location very near to the JR station made it very easy to take day trips to Osaka and Kobe. Most of the Koto sights are not near the station - such as Gion, which is a must do in Kyoto.

The location of the hotel is its biggest plus-point, immediately to the south-west side of Kyoto Station. If you arrive by train, head towards the south side (Hachijo exit). Before reaching the exit, on the right are the entrance gates to the Kintetsu railroad. Immediately to the right of the gates is a down esclator, which takes you thro to...

This hotel is a business hotel conveniently located right opposite the Kyoto train station. Rooms are bigger than the smallish ones normally found in Tokyo. Bed was comfy and bathroom was standard. The doorman on duty when we were there was very cheerful and helpful. It was a pleasure coming back to the hotel with him greeting us in his...

We chose this hotel in view of its location just across the road from Kyoto Station. Room is clean and modern but a bit small. The bathroom is even smaller but practical and well equipped. There is no in-room safe box but it's convenient to rent it from the front desk. All service staff are friendly, efficient and able to...

This hotel was booked through a tour but it was fantastic. I absolutely loved staying here and I was only there for one night! It is right across the road from Kyoto Train Station (so if you are a light sleeper, ask for a room away from the station), and I was high enough to be able to watch the...

The hotel is newly renovated and the rooms are quite spacious than normal hotel rooms. Do be reminded to ask for non-smoking floor. The hotel is just located opposite a big shopping Mall call Aeon and opposite the hotel is the JR Kyoto Station which offers you convenience of shopping, eating and transport. Another 10mins walks across the station would...

We stayed her for 3 nights. We were in a room in the front side of the building; what we recommend is try to stay in the building which seems to be newer and look nicer. Room was very small and tight for us. Nothing really to right home about the room - clean, safe, attentive care. But the service...

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
