In the center of shopping area and plenty of restaurants in the vicinity. The staff are very friendly and helpful with good English. Our room was large and comfortable. The price of it is cheap compare with its quality.

I grade 4 stars for this hotel because of its location. Very close to stores and restaurants. I walked every night and felt safe. The other thing I like about this hotel is that they have 3 beds available. Clean room. And they have free breakfast for 3 of us. Not many selection those, but very fresh. Polite staffs.

The good: great location near a shopping arcade and a nice food market. Pontocho (restaurants and river views) is close and great atnight. Gion is also close (Geisha district). Rooms itself are well maintained and nice. The bad: 1. The "Vista" from our room was a back alley looking over a cemetery.... We didn't mind, just found the contrast given...

If available on Trip Advisor I would have rated this as a "Good Hotel". This was at the end of a two week tour of Japan and we had previously stayed in a similar rated Hotel in Tokyo that had been exceptional (Richmond, Asakusa), so it was always going to be difficult not to compare and this Hotel lacked some...

What can I say when all's been said already: great location, great rooms, great staff, very clean...very Japanese :-) We could have hardly found a better value. At the price we paid (70-80 USD per night) it's a steal. Don't look further!

Location was excellent...... We were in a triple room which involved putting in a 3rd bed but I think it actually gave a little more space. Kyoto is not that big and taxis were cheap if you didn't want to negotiate public transport.

Firstly, the staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was intrinsically wrong. It's just not an exciting hotel! But 22sq m is not enough! We stayed for 5 nights and for a double room there is no space at all. No wardrobe space at all so all our stuff was piled up - but we coped! Bottled water each day was...

Around 250€ the night for a double room. Well decorated, very clean and with all the amenities you can need. Very well located in the heart of the shopping district, but still very quiet. Good choice but maybe a bit expensive after a capsule hotel!

We absolutely loved our stay in Vista Premio! The location is second to none - in the very heart of Kyoto. Bus stops at Kawaramachi Dori are a few steps away and the taxi ride to Kyoto Station is approximately 1000 ¥. The staff is kind, very helpful and professional. There are two laundry machines on the 6th floor and...

This is a great place to book in Kyoto. Very central; you walk to all highlights in the neighbourhood. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. the rooms are very nice; but we booked the executive twins; so more expensive. Breakfast is great and european. Great choice!

Staying in Shinkyogoku Shopping District

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinkyogoku Shopping District
Those who delight in shopping and cuisine will find themselves at home in Shinkyogoku. Lauded and visited by locals for its Nishiki Market, where baskets of fragrant spices, dried fish, and just-fried foods are piled high along the snaking streets of its enclosed outdoor shopping spaces, Shinkyogoku is not only a hub for fresh fare, but also for fast fashion fixes. Trends-in-the-making can be spotted in the tall windows of several one-of-a-kind stores featuring local labels and modish boutiques. Arcades, outdoor concert spaces, mega department stores, and small, enchanting cafes have sprung up to accommodate the increasing traffic. Whether looking for souvenirs and kitsch on Shinkyogoku Street, or scoping out the massive food court and restaurant floor at Takashimaya Department store, there's something for every wallet or purse, and a buyer for every item.
