The ryokan is located near to subway station Shijo in central Kyoto, which is good for sightsseing and some restaurants are in close vicinity. The hotel sits next to the street which will be heard from the rooms. The service of the hotel is very reactive. The ryokan is of considerable age and could do with some refurbishment. Rooms are...

Awesome place, two sweet old ladies run this place with their broken English, so cute. They greet you when you come in and leave, so funny. The room was large and authentic. The walls are thin (the door is paper) so you need to be considerate of other guests, there probably should not be a tv in the rooms. It...

Loved it! This little place is run by a few Japanese grandmas who spoke almost no English but super friendly. The location is unbeatable. It's a few minutes walk to Nishiki Market and downtown. The tatami is super comfy and we had a very good night sleep. The place is very quiet. The only downside is that the walls are...

We stayed at the Ryokan for 3 nights. The location is perfect, in a side, quite street, 2 min walking from the center of the city - many buses and places around. The host was doing it best to make us feel welcome (however, maybe she tried too hard, which made us feel the opposite). The room itself was very...

The stay at Ryokan Nakajimaya was an excellent experience. The owner is very friendly and they can speak pretty good english. The location is good. From the Shijo streat, look for Takakura Dori street, the Louis Vuitton shop is the most prominent landmark, right beside the LV shop turn in and walk straight and you will reach. The rooms are...

Was glad we took a taxi as this would be a hard place to find first time by yourself. We felt very welcomed and giggled as we went entered and left our shoes and headed up the steep stairs to our room. Our room was just as I had hoped for and we enjoyed it, the hot tea/treats every time...
