Not a big hotel, calm and relaxative. Close to Nishiki market and center of the city, not so far to Ponto-cho area where you can enjoy dinner in a specific environment. Also convenient for shopping at Teramachi-Kyogoku and Shin-Kyogoku arcade. Offers English restaurant map.
The Miru's five-star ratings are truly well-deserved. We felt so fortunate to have found this gem in Kyoto. The staff was welcoming and truly went out of their way to take care of our every need. We had originally booked for 3 nights and ended up shifting other reservations so that we could stay for 5. The decor is stylish and minimal, the bed, linens and pillows were super comfy. The bathroom was a bit small but suited us fine. The location is perfect, a short walk from the Nishiki market and within close reach to trendy boutiques, restaurants in all price ranges, an amazing bakery (Walder) and a few blocks from our now favourite craft beer taproom (Umineko). We travelled during Covid19 and felt very comfortable with the hotel's efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment. Thanks for a great stay Miru- we look forward to seeing you again!…
This hotel delivered everything the 'Trip Advisor' heady praise suggested. A decent sized, gorgeously configured Japanese bedroom with tatami matting, smart furniture, a great bathroom with orange and eucalyptus scented amenities, and most comforts you would expect in five star places. The public areas were small and neat, and the staff were warm and professional. There is no food service, but the hotel is encircled by restaurants, cafes and bars, and there is a kombini at the end of the street. Perfect! I will return and you should definitely stay here if you are looking for small, chic and cheerful.
We stayed at Nest (soon to be renamed "Miru") over two nights from March 12 to 13 and had an amazing experience. The location is excellent: about a 3-minute walk to Nishiki and Teramachi, the room was very comfortable: my girlfriend commented it had really good feng shui, and the customer service was exceptional: Nakamura Chie helped us arrange everything from renting a car to reserving tables at very hard-to-book restaurants. We loved our experience and will definitely stay at Nest again.
My partner and I stayed at this hotel after reading the rave reviews online, and we were not disappointed. The hotel staff were great - extremely friendly from check-in to check-out and spoke English very fluently. Although the room was slightly small, which can be expected in most Japanese hotels, it had everything necessary including a kitchenette complete with microwave, kettle and coffee machine, desk and small lounge. Our favourite feature of the hotel was the free to use washing machine and dryer in reception - extremely handy! The only small downside to our stay were the frosted windows in our room (unsure if they're frosted in all rooms), whatever the view I usually like being able to see outside to check on the weather for the day (rain etc). The hotels location was great and only a short walk to the main shopping street of Kyoto, and close to many subway stations. Will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Kyoto! Thank you to the Nest at Nishiki staff.…
First time stayed in NEST! Good service with friendly staff help me around (although I've already been in Kyoto many times!) Good, brand new room facilities, BIG ROOM in Japanese hotel standard even compare to 4, 5 stars hotels. Easy access to food, restaurants, daily products and metro station! Looking forward to enjoy in your hotel in the future!!! AND YES, they do have Nespresso machine in the room.
Loved the location, the helpful and friendly staff, the clean and well designed rooms. Very close to many restaurants and the Nishiki market, and only 2 stops from Kyoto station. We had a restful stay in a really lovely, cozy, intimately designed room.
During our three weeks of travel in Japan, Nest at Nishiki was the nicest hotel we stayed in. It's the type of place where you immediately feel at home, tucked away on a quiet side street within walking distance of restaurants, bars and shops as well as subway and bus lines for when you venture out. Facilities are first rate with everything you need to feel right at home: very comfortable beds in a clean and quiet room with en-suite bathroom and good quality toiletries. Our 'superior' room had a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine and comfortable sitting area with small sofa, desk, chair and even a free to use smartphone. For laundry, there was a mini ironing board in the room as well as washing machine and tumble dryer self-service with free to use detergent. The kindness and warmth of the hotel staff was second to none and they did everything they could to make our stay in Kyoto a pleasant one. Our new friend Sachiko :) gave us some great museum tips and advice for day trips. When we return to Kyoto, Nest at Nishiki is where we will stay.…
This location is uniquely situated in the heart of Kyoto giving access to all manner of shopping and historic locations, temples, shrines, etc.. It is quite close to Kyoto Station giving access to greater Japan as well. More than the facilities and location, this staff is exceptional and so very eager to help a lost traveler with limited Japanese. The staff is a reflection of the manager who is a first class hotelier that has instilled the service of a five star location into a charming and cozy facility. Book here. Book often. You will not be disappointed!
Definitely a must stay in charming Nishiki neighbourhood. It is amazing and therapeutic just strolling around the nearby streets. Walking distance to shopping areas, local restaurants and Gion. The front office team are kind, helpful and accomodating. Special shout out to Chie, Sachiyo😊 and Yifen. Thank you ladies! Room is well maintained and nice with a Nespresso machine, that is a plus & convenient for a coffee addict like me. See you again soon!
