The room is bright and clean. The size of the room is decent and is near Shijo Station (which is connected to Karasuma station underground). Take exit 4 to get to the hotel quickly from the train station. Basic amenities are available in the bathroom, but u can help yourself to additional amenities, like facial wash, bathtub soaks, hair wax (in single usage packaging), etc at the level 2 hotel lobby. There’s no coffee in the room, but u can help yourself to the coffee at the lobby.
This is not a luxury hotel by any means but for the money, it is a very comfortable place to stay for a few nights in Kyoto. Rooms were clean and comfortable but a bit plain. I didn't go to Kyoto to stay in my room, so not really an issue. Only 2 stops from Kyoto Station and walking distance to great shopping including Teramachi. Plenty of fun shops and restaurants on every street. Good bus access as well. I would go back to this place next time I visit Kyoto. The breakfast was outstanding that featured local purveyors of produce and tsukemono (Japanese pickles). there is plenty of Western style breakfast options as well. The front desk was staffed adequately with a multi lingual team (I heard Japanese, English, and Mandarin).
Convenient location to the train stations. Nearby convenient stores. Nice entrance and lift area which I wished had continued into reception and rooms. Rooms were tiny for the price (US$140/nt) and not very clean. The sheets and carpets were stained. No water provided in rooms but they had jugs of water and coffee/tea at reception that you could help yourselves to. Front desk staff were all friendly and helpful.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by a very rude woman, [--]. There was also an old woman with glasses who seemed to hate being there and didn't like any guests that weren't Japanese...racist. Room was dirty, carpet had stains everywhere and obviously had not been maintained. It also had a bad odour which was probably the carpet. The Breakfast was disgraceful and they pack up 45 minutes before breakfast time officially ends. They even ran put of food and cook said "sold ou" and poured water into the trays [--] said we misunderstood stood him and he had brought more food out but pouring water into food trays said it all. Old woman with glasses needs to be moved into non guest contact role as she is horrible, bitter person [--] lies and is better off in a cleaning role, perhaps she could do the carpets. GO ELSEWHERE UNLESS YOU WANT A SMELLY, DIRTY ROOM (CARPETS), AND RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICE.…
This hotel is close to Shijo station, Nishiki Market and the Pokemon Centre. The buffet breakfast was decent, with a range of Japanese and western dishes and some different dishes each day. Staff were friendly and helpful. Guests can help themselves to a range of extra toiletries in the lobby area - we liked the bath salts. My only complaint is that the carpet in our room was stained and in need of a deep clean or replacement.
This is definitely the first hotel I had ever had all over the world. For my check-in, it was a disaster. I stayed in the check in counter for over 20 mins. I originally booked via Agoda for 4 nights. The staff claimed that I need to change room after 2 nights stay. I asked for the reason for changing room which I booked 4 nights in 1 booking. The staff checked and checked and finally cannot find out the record is wrong. Finally, after 20 mins confusion, we finally enter my room which all my request are not addressed. I request high floor and finally I lived on the 3rd floor ( 7 floor overall). I request king bed and double bed is given. I request a quiet room and a room next to elevator is given. For other service, it is extremely disaster. I would like to book a Japanese restaurant. They used the public phone ($$ paid by us) as they can't used their desk phone to help me to call. Holy crab. Simple as the concierge service, they even cannot provide. What I want is to reserve a sushi restaurant nearby. They can only show me on the map which the restaurant they recommend but it is fully booked after we walk to the restaurant. Just wasting our time. Hospitality is service with genuine care. Fress simply has nothing in terms of hospitality. …
Hotel was accessible to bus stop and train system. Entrance was quaint and small. Service was excellent. Room comfortable and good amenities. Was able to enjoy Kyoto and hop in the bullet train to visit Hiroshima.
Located just 3mins walk from Shijo subway station. A very nice entrance walkway. Lobby is at level2. Got lift, don’t worry. Amenities are free to take! Very comfortable stay. Did not try the breakfast, 7-11/lawson are all walking distance. Oh, forgot to mention that the front desk staff are really friendly and helpful!
Good Location, Short walking distance to Nishiki Market and shopping malls. This hotel is nearby bus stop and train station so there is very convenient if you plan to go any attractions place either by train or bus. This hotel have provide Ogawa Coffee (小川咖啡)at the lobby everyday. I like the coffee very much. Overall are comfortable and value for the money.
I have always admired Japanese for their well-mannered and tiptop service until I stayed here, for 4 nights. No greetings at all on the first day and on the day we left, and staffs were not helpful n rude. When I asked a staff on how to do a airport limousine to KIX, one elderly staff tried to help but was quickly told off by one of her senior. Instead, I was told to call the limousine service myself, which I have no choice but to. So I used the public telephone, inserted 100yen, line went thru but was cut. I approached the counter lady and the only question she asked- are you sure u put in the money? Holy crab. Unless u are pretty sure your ways around Kyoto, I am sure there are much much better hotels than this one.
