The hotel is located uphill and away from Arima Onsen main street by 10-min walk. It provides free shuttle service from the main street, bus stops and train station to the hotel, or vice versa, upon request. It has only 9 rooms in total including Japanese bedrooms, twin bed rooom and double bed room, but that's its upside that you could enjoy all the facilities, including the shared bathrooms and toilets without crowds. Its in-house onsen is the clear Ginsen water (silver water). The hotel is pleasant, and comfortable. The staff was nice and served us very warmly. I arrived the hotel a quarter before 3 and they allowed me to check in earlier without hesitation and helped me to move the luggage onto 2/F where my room was located. This hotel is annexed to Arima Hot Spring Ryokan Hanamusubi (3mins by walk), sharing the main building's Kinsen (gold water) and also Ginsen onsens, both indoor and outdoor. If you choose the half-board package, you will enjoy the delicious dinner at this main building. More importantly, the hotel is priced very reasonably among the others available in the vicinity of Arima Onsen but the facilities and meals provided are well above average. I highly recommend to those travelers who are first time to visit Arima Onsen and would like to enjoy a half-board (with dinner and breakfast) at limited budget.

Services were great with attentive staff. Osen facility (silver Onsen) is great within this ryokan. A short walk (1 minute) to the nearby Sister hotel provided other osen experience (golden brown Onsen, salty iron rich). We tried both and like them very much. The dinner was awesome. Fine dining, tasty and good portion. Certainly a great ryokan to recommend.

Kotori is a sister building to the main hotel Hanamusubi. The Hanamusubi is a giant hotel, but the kotori has only 10 rooms. It's quiet and feels like your own building. The staff is kind and professional. They are very accommodating. Only issue is that the dinner is in the main building and so is the bigger onsen. During a warm day, it is no problem, but if it is cold, that 1 minute walk can make or break your experience. Overall, it was a very good experience and I would stay there again.
