Right from the very start when we have arrived at this gorgeous property we had a wonderful time! The property itself is very gorgeous. There's a mix of Western and Eastern inspiration making an elegant retreat. We were first served a cup of tea whilst our rooms was being prepared. The staff took care of moving all of our luggages...

We booked a room with dinner + breakfast included with private bathroom. Onsen is very nice. Beds are very nice. Decoration is gorgeous. Very lovely. Facilty wise and service wise it is just perfect. Kaiseki dinner is very well served and a taste/flavour/texture odyssey. Breakfast is also excellent. The only con is not the property itself but rather noisy guests...

The cheap room(although it's not cheap)didn't worth the price. If your budget allowed, book a suite here! We booked 2nights Deluxe Room in this famous hotel.Otherwise the so called deluxe room is like the redecorated former staff dormitory. The reason I feel that, because the decorations are totally changed(not in a good way) once you enter the not-suite area. The room is on the...

Excellent location and just next to the bus station and Main Street with shops. Standard Japanese style room is relative small but cozy. Good hot spring facility. All the staff are very well trained with excellent services. A good value for money with full board meal booking. Highly recommended!

Family of 5. The service was superb, the Onsen authentic, the Keiseki dinner in our room delicious and generous, and so too was breakfast in the room. The facilities are quite basic, but that was our expectation for a Ryokan experience. We all slept in the same room on our futons, which were quite comfy. The two massage chairs were...

Touted as the oldest onsen, this ryokan in the quaint little town of Arima Onsen is anything but. Their tatami rooms come with modern toilets and amenities but guests may have to put up with noise from the neighboring rooms due to lack of soundproofing. The onsen is a delightful experience especially in the autumn or winter seasons. Staff are...

First of all, I had such a great experience here! the reception was great; they were very welcoming, and they all spoke English. (which is quite rare case for ryokans) Room was clean and had lots of space, and their hot spring was beyond words. my skin felt much more smoother after two baths. (after dinner, before breakfast) the only...

Just 1 min walk from the highway bus station, very convenience. Traditional Ryokan with amazing service. They have their own golden hot-spring and also provided a private section for the silver hot-spring, I'm sure it will be excellent during winter time. The traditional Japanese style dinner and breakfast was much better than I expected, worth to come and definitively will...

An old, traditional ryokan with amazing service, food and surroundings. Rooms were remarkable just like in the old times. We slept on the floor covered with tatami. Food in the hotel restaurant was served in the kaiseki style and it was mind blowing. It was nine dishes served on the beautiful ceramic pottery. Every day dinner was different. We have...

This ryokan is a minute from the highway bus station. My elderly parents and I took a highway bus from Umeda Osaka to Arima, so its convenient location is definitely one of its selling points. The services from everyone we met were flawless. The receptionist painstakingly took down each of our preferences for dinner. As my mother couldn't eat certain...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Goshobo was founded 800 years ago and is the oldest inn in the spa town of Arima, an exceptional spot with astonishing brick-coloured waters. «Gosho», which means «imperial palace», is an echo of the long, feudal era when the establishment was reserved for the nobility.
