I have never experienced good service at this property and this was the worst. I was checked in by Kim who greeted me with "your name?". I gave him my name and he told me that I was staying two nights and then he asked me for my passport. I was not welcomed back or asked if I wanted a king size bed or given any feeling that I had stayed there before. I told him I have stayed many times before and he should have some id on file if he needed it. His response was "you have only stayed 10 times". Wow! Done. This is my last time to stay at a property that has never welcomed me back on my very few visits(sarcasm). I was given a room with two beds instead of a king which I would have prefered. I was never asked. this is supposed to be a five star hotel but their service is 3 star.
I have stayed at the Crown several times. It has always lived up to expectations. One drawback - KING SIZE BEDS aren’t American King size. The Buffet is to die for. There is a mix of Western and Asian cuisine.
The hotel was dated/tired but well kept, clean and the staff was very professional. The location next to Kobe Station was very convenient. The price was also very reasonable. I generally stay at the Oriental (which is fabulous) but it is 2X the price and I needed to be near the station this time. It is a great hotel if you just need to get in and out for business.
This hotel is in a great location, immediately adjacent to The breakfast buffet is wonderful, and offers a wide variety of American, European and Japanese style dishes. Staff is very helpful and professional. The hotel is easy walking distance to the Kobe Herb Gardens - a very special place to visit any time of year.
It is located close to Shin Kobe station. Exit the station , see the tall hotel building and Just walk across the pedestrian bridge. The reception is on the 4th floor. A hotel with space. The lounge is very spacious and we enjoy sitting on the sofas. We can also help ourselves to the free lemon water while relaxing there. There are many restaurants at the adjacent shopping mall, Koto No Hako. Our room was very spacious. The bath tub is large and bath powder is provided. We also made use of the ' Gentle steam eye musk'. Simply gorgeous to soak yourself in the water at night, body soothing after going to the many scenic spots in Kobe during the day. Really good tips from the "Your great sleep " guide provided. The steaming We Great pillows provided , enabling us to sleep soundly through the night. From the window , we have a great view of Kobe , as it appears at night and daytime. …
We had an excellent 4 night stay at ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe. This is the second time in less than 3 years that we have stayed at this very spacious hotel with a great location and a large and welcoming lobby. The subway is just below the hotel while and the Shin Kobe station is a few minutes' walk away. There is also a supermarket and a 100 Yen shop right below the hotel; really convenient. As with the last stay, we had a great view from our room which was on the 28th floor. The service provided by the hotel was excellent. Everything we requested from housekeeping such as a iron, extra pillows etc. were delivered promptly. There is also a well equipped gym on the 12 floor that is open 24 hours. We enjoyed our breakfast every morning which has a very good spread of Japanese and western cuisines. We tried a few of the restaurants at the hotel and they were all very good. Our favourite was the teppanyaki restaurant, Kitano. We really enjoyed our stay at ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe. We will certainly be back at the hotel if we visit Kobe again in the future.…
The ANA crowne plaza is located beside the Shinkansen train station and just one metro station from the Sannomiya central station away. Also the very nice Nunobiki herb garden cable car is just locaed beside the hotel. So for tourists this hotel has almost the perfect location since you can visit downtown Kobe with all the restaurants within some minutes or go to top of the mountains on the Nunobiki herb garden directly from the hotel. And if you want to visit Kyoto the Shinkansen brings you there in just 28 minutes in the train station close by. There are several restaurants in the hotel, a fitness center and shops. There is also a lounge in the top floor 37 if you have booked a room on the top levels. This offers nice breakfast, tea and small appetizers in the evening, all included in the room price. This is recommended from my point of view. However the rooms are rather small and a little bit outdated. Overall a very good hotel, very good location for visitors and a good infrastructure.…
Went for a rugby world cup game so very crowded which they found a problem in the dining room, frequent wait for a table at breakfast and lunch then uncomfortable with a large crowd at the inevitable buffet. Room ok with good view. We once lived in Kobe and have visited many times since so we know how to get around and where to go. If visiting first time would stay nearer city centre but good for us with luggage for 3 week stay and travelling shinkansen. Boasted the largest fattest group of England supporters available in Japan so no surprise large amounts of food consumed! Convenient for Rokko (where we lived as well as Kitano cho) and Mayer cable.
Arrived for the Rugby World Cup and after an excellent trip on the Shinkansen we stepped out of the station to find the hotel just a few hundred yards in front, with fabulous views of Kobe . As Scott’s we’ were lucky enough to meet Gregor Townsend in the lift and some of the Scottish team whilst out and about , the team were also staying in the hotel . Large spacious room, decor a little dated but very clean , super comfortable bed with excellent bedding and lots of nice extras such as sleep eye masks, bath salts , in addition to those you would expect . Herb Garden located to the rear of the hotel with easy access to the cable car . Excellent Kobe beef restaurant next to hotel . Hotel can do laundry but it is per item and very expensive if you have lots . Just a short walk away is a 24 hr laundrette with excellent facilities , Super large machines up to 23kg loads . Approx £9 for washing machine and dryer and all super quick Lovely friendly staff, stunning bar and restaurant on the top floor and lovely bar on ground floor near reception . Perfect location, very comfortable, wonderful staff .…
Hotel is in walking distance of the Shin Kobe train station, covered walkway and escalators get you safely into the hotel. Rooms are well appointed with everything you need and have great views of Kobe, we are on the 28th Floor and just love the view. Access to Rugby stadium and anything else is easy from this location and the staff are friendly and very helpful.
