Stayed in this quirky hotel for a few days on a beautiful trip to Iceland. Wonderful service, staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and breakfast was tasty. Good location as a base for exploring the area.

The bathroom of the room is just seven steps across the public corridor. Very special. But it is your private as declared by the receptionist. ))) Awful smell of 90’s garage is in the restaurant. And last not least the bed mattress is brought from the waste pile. Unhappy and frightened staff of the hotel and the restaurant definitely predict your disappointment. The location is excellent, 2 minutes by foot left from the railway station.

It's located just by the railway station so it's quite central in this small town. It's been a while since the rooms where refurbished but it has a kind of old russian beauty. The rooms are kept well tidy but there's no AC, so have that in mind if you plan to stay there during summer. Not the biggest breakfast buffet. Most of the staff is english speaking, at least at the front desk. If I ever visit Vyborg again I would probably stay at a better hotel but don't hesitate to book this one for a couple of nights.

Location - very good. Next to railway station, all attractions are close by, restaurants and cafes as well. Staff - cheerful. Internet fast. Breakfast is good. May be the choice is not so wide... but food is good. Even breakfast starts at 7.00, a bit late for business travelers, it possible to come 10-15 minutes earlier and have hot meal. Or order lunch box in advance and pick it up in the Morning. Dinner in hotel restaurant is quit good. Rooms... As hotel located next to station and busy road, no way to have quiet time. Only limited rooms have AC. With window opened you feel like on platform or next to road. Best room for me was “Room with jacuzzi”. It equipped with AC, big. Standard rooms are very small. Some have not rest room inside, it can be located next door, by private. There are some rooms without window. Luxury rooms. “Just marrieds room” large, AC, located on first floor. But stinky, sewage smell all time. To keep silence window should be closed, AC on - and terrible smell. Another luxury room located on ground floor, is really comfortable. But it is equipped with sewage systems pump, means some discomfort.

The hotel is the best choice for people who want to combine a comfortable stay with a reasonable price. The hotel is situated right next to the train station, in walkable distance to the old town. The rooms are clean, the staff is polite and friendly, their English is pretty good. The only drawback is breakfast, it was kind of poor. But in general the hotel is really a good place to stay at.

Russian style hotel. A little bit out of order everything. Bath was smelly, but so is the most of baths in Russia. Normal. Nothing special. Parking free and in front of the hotel. If it's cheap - book. Otherwise skip.

The hotel was clean and nicely situated. The staff was ok, but not the most helpfull. Breakfast was good, but if one can not eat gluten like I, the choises are not so great. If you know even a bit russian everything goes fine.

If you travel from/to Helsinki by Allegro high speed train, Viking is excellent choise, especially if your train is so early as 7AM. I liked restaurant with windows to Vyborg railway square, although Stalin bombed old station building and build new one in 50's by Soviet style, when Carelia was already occupied by Soviet Union. One small building, just near Viking hotel, is build at Finnish period and is still working as goods building as before. Hotel restaurant is absolutely good.

We were en route from St. Petersburg to Finland and it was just one day to see such an interesting city like Vyborg, unfortunately. We did not find a youth hostel here, so chose Viking hotel for stopovers. Everything needed for the hotel is available, but it would be more of an atmosphere, as in other hostels. In this city should go back, but not in this place.
