We stayed in the best hotels in St. Petersburg, but we return again to this cozy, graceful, nobly aged, aristocratic , with ancient beauty, dignity, courtesy of staff and administration and very attentive to our guests! And we're always greeted with a sparkling pink brute! As it happens, we stayed in this hotel both celebrating our birthday and wedding anniversary , and each time the management was so kind that we were promoted to the room category 1-2 positions, always congratulating us with champagne, exquisite handmade candy! So touching and pleasant! Always gave a little souvenir from the hotel when they left! Yes, the rooms aren't modern, but the aristocrats didn't do major renovations to their mansions every 3 years! We stayed before the famous events and at the Ritz, Madrid (before its renovation), Hotel Avenida Palace, Lisbon, Hotel El Palace Barcelona, Mandarin Oriental, Munich, ancient hotels in Luxembourg, Lyon, Due Torri Hotel in Verona, etc... And all of them had a noble swoop of antiquity and chafing. It didn't bother me too much, although I love the new, needle-sided luxury hotels. But in the Grand Hotel Europe it is - excellent room equipment , always replenished the supply of free water, good tea , coffee, impeccable cleanliness, in the bathroom all the cosmetics of Bulgari! , as it should, full set: cotton wool, wands, combs, toothbrushes and paste, razor set, bath foam, hats etc! We haven't had buffet breakfasts in the hotel for a long time, and we have breakfast every time in the new cafe-restaurant in the city, but the cafe "Mezzanine" had breakfast on the menu and were very pleased! Particularly good is the cappuccino , where on the foam the views of St. Petersburg are applied! It’s a legendary Hotel in St Petersburg, which is nearly 150 years old. And you can definitely feel the energy of the great history of this place. Rooms are comfortable and tidy. Breakfast choice is pretty good, I would only recommend to introduce more healthy options (vegan, gluten and dairy free). Service is also at the level. In summer season they serve it in a large room of Europe Restaurant. You can enjoy it accompanied by piano music and beautiful panneaus on the wall. Concierge service is excellent. They even organise guided 30-mins tours around the hotel building and adjacent Arts Square as a compliment for the guests. We learned lots of interesting facts about the hotel’s history and the city itself. A very appreciated initiative! The hotel’s location is very good, easy to reach the most important monuments by foot. Personally I love staying in historic hotels and would definitely be back in Grand Hotel Europe next time I am in town.

The overall experience of this place was very positive: the location is good, right on the Nevsky prospect, Great view from the room: beautiful Savior on the Spilled Blood. Room service, most of the dishes I tried was also very good. Dry cleaning was made in time and properly. The feeling inside is good and the flowers decoration at the entrance was marvelous. I liked it a lot, that the floor in the bathroom was warm and the towels was there for better feeling. I would consider it as a 5 rated hotel, only a few things really disappointed me: - in this luxury 5 star hotel the guests should leave a deposit. This is funny: a deposit. Like in 90th in the 3 star hotel in Turkey or Egypt. Like customers are already suspected on not to pay the bill for mini bar or laundry . And, when I refused to leave deposit, they went to my room to clear the minibar: to take away chocolate bars and bear, that they should want to sell to customers! And the service lady refused to bring laundry to the room unless I will go down and pay it (tell them about the credit cards machine! They should know that) - the room service was knocking into my room late in the evening so that I return the trolley , my dinner was served on. Even I have not finished the meal yet. These things really disappoint. - no socket next to the bad. It’s already a common thing to charge the phone/ headphones, watch, etc next to the bad. But you can only do it in the room by moving night table Otherwise, it’s a nice place to stay

It all started and ended at the time of arrival - we arrived at 2:15 p.m. and at the time of booking I asked for the room to be ready at 2:00 p.m. - I understand that technically they can refuse arrival until 3:00 p.m., but late summer, under-occupancy, regular customer - somehow I was sure that at 2:15 p.m. the room would be available.
But that wasn't it. We arrived heavy after the wedding of friends the day before in BIP (Emperor Paul's Bastion), it was my wife's birthday, we had a ship booked for 16 and I just needed to lie down for 30 minutes to recover, but not here - they smothered us until 14:55, after which for some reason they changed the check-in number and moved us into a totally unready room, in my opinion, as a mockery - no baby bed (although the room was booked for two adults and a child), no vase for flowers, even though they knew about DR - nothing! After a few reminders, they brought something, but the mood was ruined!
I honestly tried to discuss the problem with the hotel management, but they were so great they didn't find time to talk to me in two days - in fact, why talk to the customers!?
From the general impressions, the Deluxe rooms are small and give away old age (exactly, old age, not old), and in my opinion are significantly inferior to the executive rooms in Corinthia on Nevsky, which in the same price category - this is not advertising, it is just that I stayed many times in Corinthia, have not stayed in Europe for a long time - I was never made to wait until almost 3 and never given at 14:55 an unready room. We've had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. Room was spacious with many extras, breakfast was excellent (even on the 10th day), and the staff was friendly and most efficient. We've also enjoyed the hotel's atmosphere as well as its great location close to many historical and cultural attractions at walking distance.

Everything about the Belmond Grand was exceptional the quality of food and the beautiful Christmas decorations. Breakfasts are wonderful everything you could possibly want, the cafe bar had extremely slow service, but to be honest we found the service slow everywhere in Russia, but as we were on holiday it did not matter, perhaps if on business you would find it a problem. Russia overall both Moscow and St Petersburg was truly exceptional, especially the train journey from Moscow to St Petersburg. Both cities were free of the kind of litter we find at home, everything appeared to run on time and the Metros have to be seen to be believed.

Everything about the hotel is nice, but the receptionists on the morning of November 9 treated me badly. The employee looked at me with contempt and disdain when I spoke to them. And she responded to me in a very bad way. Because I am a veiled woman. Throughout the stay, this employee and other receptionists were frowning at us and not welcoming us. If the hotel does not welcome veiled women, it should write this on the booking sites. Because we do not accept such bad treatment and racism!! And I would like to thank the employee at the Concierge on the same date in the evening. She was wonderful and respectful, and also the salon employees were polite, friendly and very cooperative. The breakfast buffet was beautiful and the service was excellent. And the staff are wonderful.

The weather was terrible - cold and rainy, instead of the snow and minus degrees we were hoping for. Apart from that we loved everything about St Petersburg. Grand Europe Hotel is perfect for sightseeing, shopping and restaurants. You can walk to most interesting sights. But it is worth travelling by underground since the stations are as beautiful and interesting as anything above ground. The hotel feels very special and matches the atmosphere of the city. I think our room was standard and was fine but not outstanding. The entrance, lobby bar and restaurant, however, are amazing. Breakfast is expensive and we only had it once but it was worth it just for the experience. If you were really canny, you could make your breakfast brunch and skip having to buy a lunch that day. St P tip which we received and was useful is agree on a price before you get in a taxi and don't accept the meter price. We only took one taxi but agreed on1000 rubles when the driver started off at 2000.

Actually we stayed in the Art room over looking the park, absolutely beautiful and you would not be disappointed. Classic furnishing, incredible bathroom a real floor of the lifestyle which is St Petersburg. In addition make sure to visit the Merchant Grocery store, excellent caviar and champagne afternoons or lunched. It is about 10 minutes walk from the hotel.
