For my husband's birthday, we decided to stay at the Lotte Hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, the interiors are luxurious, the smells are pleasant. They promised to check in in 10 minutes, but they waited an hour. Our room overlooked the courtyard. To get a room with a view of St. Isaac's, you had to pay another 14,700. First of all, the service at this hotel is absolutely amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, always willing to help with any questions and doing everything they could to make my stay as comfortable as possible. 🥰
The hotel itself is very beautiful and luxurious. The interiors are tastefully decorated and create an atmosphere of comfort and elegance. My room was spacious with a comfortable bed and all the necessary amenities. Cleanliness was maintained at the highest level. 🛏️✨

Not bad, in principle. But too many buts. Beautiful lobby and slightly "tired" restaurant design on the ground floor. We chose a room with windows to Isaac Square - that saved our common impression. Since the room itself is nothing special, no frills or highlights.
Breakfasts are rich, but... tasteless, nothing special. We haven't gone again. The "tea ceremony" was unpleasantly surprising. Nothing to do with the traditional English "five o'clock tea"! Instead of small snacks for one bite came a set of ordinary and untasty sandwiches, stale croissants, large brownies - apparently leftovers from breakfast, and cold, blue pancakes with veiled red caviar... The waitress didn't bother to tell me anything about the salt.
The service is pumped up too - it looks like it's out of line. No one's smiling, everyone's kind of tense. It was unpleasantly surprising that almost no one speaks English in the chain international hotel (our company had English speakers)! The day before, we met cashiers at the supermarket - more friendly and more English-speaking.
At the spa, my husband chose a four-arm massage. The hotel location was convenient and felt very quiet. The concierge were very helpful in advising on any tours/ attractions we wanted to see and room services was very friendly and sweet. The rooms felt a little old and perhaps tired, however the bathroom and amenities were very good. The toilet is similar to those found in Japan. The bars/restaurants close fairly early and we had to go elsewhere to eat upon arrival at around 10PM.

I stayed at the Lotte Hotel St Petersbourg for three nights and my stay could not have been any better.
First, the hotel itself. It’s beautifully designed and in a great location, right opposite St Isaac’s Cathedral (in my opinion, one of the most beautiful locations in the city). The hotel feels new but classic, with some typical luxury Russian decoration (golden and shinny interiors) but not tacky like in other hotels. The rooms are spacious, very very clean and super comfortable. The reflect the city with their wall colours and deco, which I very much appreciate (I love to feel like I’m in Russia!) I love the Molton Brown toiletries and the Nespresso coffee machine, they are my favourites! Breakfast (which I paid for everyday) is amazing, super tasty and very varied (just ask if you can’t find what you want and they’ll never say no!), and the swimming pool and Spa is very nice too (although a jacuzzi would have made it perfect).
However, the real highlight for me is the service. It’s been OUTSTANDING, consistently! Since the minute I arrived everyone, absolutely everyone, has made me feel welcomed and respected, in a very friendly way. My companion couldn’t come in the end and the hotel couldn’t give me a refund for his breakfast and occupancy (because I got a good rate on the basis I cannot cancel and get a refund, which is totally fair). But still, they gave me a room upgrade for the inconvenience! The person that helped me check in took me personally to my room, which I really liked. At breakfast, the waiter recommended different things, had a nice little chat with me, they offered me the press and check on me constantly to see if I needed anything else. At the SPA, the lady explained to me very well the different options and what’s great about every different treatment. She also showed me around. At the bar, the barman was very friendly and made me feel really welcome. The room was beautifully serviced everyday, morning and evening; there was even some chocolates and other treats left for me always! Honestly, thank you for providing THE BEST customer service. I am in love with the city and I know I’ll come back!in the future. When that happens I’ll stay at the LOTTE again, for sure!

The design of Superior rooms is modern, while the design of Deluxe rooms is classic/royal. Both styles offer rooms with various views and sizes. Both types are beautiful. Our room (dlx) was not big, but very convenient. There are also Heavenly rooms which are attic rooms. Haven't seen those, so cannot comment.
There are more places to choose from in the St. Petersburg area.
