I celebrated my anniversary in St. Petersburg and a group of 13 relatives and friends stayed at “Galunov”. There was a wonderful atmosphere of cleanliness, comfort and warmth, as they know how to create in this particular hotel; the staff are hospitable and do everything for the convenience of the guests. The hotel congratulated me very nicely on my holiday, we were all fed deliciously at breakfast, and all my requests and wishes were taken into account. We'll be back again and again!!!

We were at the Galunov Hotel for the second time. I like everything - the location (not far from the Moskovsky train station), and the amenities in the hotel and room. Good breakfasts, tea room open 24 hours a day. A bottle of water is provided in the room daily. You can also get water near the reception. There is a cooler with cold water on the floors. There is a kettle in the room. Tea bags and sugar are provided daily. Good cosmetics in the bathroom. Constantly replenished. A robe and slippers are provided in each room. There is air conditioning. Very friendly and helpful staff at the reception (Marina, Anastasia). The room and hotel are very cozy.

This designed hotel has many advantages. The first one is the staff. All the workers do their best to make the customer satisfied, especially Marina, Nadia and Nadia from the breakfast restaurant who jumps around to make sure everyone has everything. Breakfast is tasty and fine. The option for 24 hour coffee and snacks is wonderful and convenient. The location is good- a minute walk to bus stations and 7 minutes from the metro. The bathroom is of good size and the whole place is very clean. But- the room is ridiculously small with hardly no storage place. The entrance is in a back yard where some renovations are made and it's unpleasant to walk through. As a conclusion, I think it was an interesting experience, but I would think twice before recommending it to others.

Stayed here for 4 nights. It felt home away from home.Airport transfer and arranging for a taxi to the station were all smooth. Regarding facilities, everything is great.They have considered all minute details while designing the room like the number of plug sockets and usb ports. I loved the music that plays on in the bathroom too and you can actually control the volume.Housekeeping is excellent. Everyday treats like candies and chocolates were something I would look for.Above all, the complementary access to the dining area where you can have different kinds of tea, coffee, latte, fruit, nuts, ice creams and what not..The staff at the reception are extremely friendly , helpful and all of them speak English.Room decors are lovely. It is a great place for walkers. Bus stops, metro stops are nearby.Lots of cafes nearby.There is no elevator but the stairs are not steep at all. All in all , a wonderful experience.

We stayed in Galunov hotel on 13-17 June, during the St.Petersburg White Nights. Our unforgettable experience exceeded all expectations. First of all it is a very special boutique hotel located in a quiet street in an old apartment block with a beautiful grand staircase not far from the Moskovskyi Railway Station and within 15 minutes walking distance of Alexander Nevsky Monastery complex. The staff were very friendly, and helped us to bring suitcases to our room (it is a 3 storey building with no lift). Off road parking was available in the courtyard at the rear of the hotel. Our Deluxe room was spacious and cozy. Quilts, pillows, bathrobes, bed linens were very comfortable and all had the Galunov hotel logo. The interior halls, reception and staircase area were very stylish, decorated with statues of little hares (a reference to the old Swedish name for the St.Petersburg area) and various old sewing machines, as well as beautiful paintings with St.Petersburg views. There is 24-hour access to the third floor café, with a nice balcony overlooking to the street, where residents can enjoy free hot/cold drinks (coffee, tea, water etc.), biscuits, ice-cream, fruits, nuts and chips. It was very convenient to be able to have a cup of tea returning to the hotel at 3am after watching the bridges opening. Breakfasts had a varied selection ie smoked salmon, cheese, sausages, a big variety of local breads, hot meals (i.e. pancakes, omelette, hot sausage, potato gratin, vegetables etc.), biscuits, cakes, fruits etc. You can also order freshly squeezed juice at additional price of USD2.5.

We spent 3 nights in this hotel and highly recommend it. Altghough the building is under renovation, our room was not disturbed by the works. The building kept its old charm yet with all modern comfort. Service is welcoming and helpful, the ladies speak decent English. There is a coffee room where you can sit and enjoy drinks, pastries and fruits anytime for free (with a small balcony for whomever wants to have a smoke). Breakfast offers abundant choice and is very good. On top of it, location just by Nevsky prospekt is perfect: buses and trams are 2 minutes away and the closest metro station as well as the Moscow railway station are a 5 minutes walk.

They have the most important things in a hotel, that in my opinion are: comfortability, clean, kindness and good buffet at breakfast. But they have them at the highest rate. To show their kindness just tell you they made us a basket with a breakfast for our departure (at night). The rooms are big, with comfortable beds, big bathrooms and well equipped (just if their hairdryer was a little better, it would be just perfect). And finally the hotel is just really beautiful. Great, great hotel.

This is an excellent small hotel with a very good location. Furnishings, breakfast, and decor are on par with any five star hotel. It is in an older building which has been beautifully renovated and furnished. Impeccably clean. Staff is very helpful and receptionists are at desk 24/7. It is about a five minute walk to the metro and the main railway station, Moskovski Vokzal. The dining area is very nice and available for seating and snacks at all hours (coffee, ice cream, fresh fruit, and other tasty treats). Breakfast included freshly cooked eggs, smoked fish, blini, etc.). I speak Russian, but the staff all speak excellent English. Entrance is in the rear. They are remodelling the inner courtyard presently, but I heard no construction noise. Only downside: rooms are on the small side. There is no lift, but most rooms are only one flight up and they have very low rise stairs. The dining area is on the third floor. If you want luxury, but want to stay at a small hotel with a more personal touch, I would highly recommend the Galunov. This is my fourth trip to St. Petersburg. and I will likely stay here again on my return.
