Moscow is not a very user friendly city. Unlike practically every other city in Russia the street signs and the metro stops are only in cyrillic with no latin transliterations. The city practically prides itself on not doing anything to make it easier for tourists. If you stay in this apartment, you will have no support whatsoever - the person... More

I stayed in Novy Arbat apartment with my mother and 3 year old daughter. We spent a week in Moscow visiting relatives. Positive: central location, great views, good security, underground and supermarket in the vicinity, very quiet - the noise of the busy street disappears when the windows are shut. Negative: having to pay the full rent in cash upon... More

Perfect location, nice apartments, very helpful team. I'm constant client since 5 years, prefer apartments near Smolenskaya and Arbatskaya subway station. The price is usual much cheaper as for the other apartments or hotel in this district.

I used 2 times their services in the past and it was ok. Today August 2012, as returning customer, I asked to be served again but they were very rude, like if they don't need customers. I understand that Moscow is becoming a very required destination, especially for business, but they can't behave in a rude way. So, luckily, there... More

Please be warned that what Astor shows on the internet is not what you will get! I booked an apartment and got confirmation via the internet. My first let down was the airport pick up. I had informed the company rep, one Juliya of the size of my family, but the car that greeted us at the airport was extremely... More

Stayed in the Kievskaya flat all August 2011. The only redeeming factor was the closeness of the metro station. The flat itself was a total disappointment. The description int their advertisement does not correspondent to reality: the flat was very dirty (the kitchen particularly was filthy!), kitchen utensils not up to scratch (eg only one drinking glass), curtains torn and... When we arrived in Moscow, the Astor apartment official told us it was better to register our visa. As rules had just changed and we had no formal version of registration rules, we preferred to subscribe to the service (25€/person) to avoid any trouble at the custom house. The Astor guy said it would take 2 or 3 days (we... More

Don't believe the glossy website, promising toiletries, linen, international TV channels. Toiletries didn't exist, nor did TV channels, DVD didn't work, towels were like sandpaper, sofabed was broken, so called fully equipped kitchen had two glasses and very little else, I could go on and on. Worst thing though, the lock did not work on the door and after a... More

We stayed in a two-bedroom apartment on Smolenskaya Naberezhnaya (embankment) for 4 days in August, 2009. The Astor Aparments management team provided excellent, prompt and attentive service throughout the entire process (booking and reservation, transfers from the airport and to Leningradskiy train station, check-in, check-out). The apartment had a wonderful view of Moscow over the Moscow River. The 2 Smolenskaya... More

We spent a week with Astor Apartments and we really enjoyed our stay with them. The apartment “Kievskaya” we stayed in is located very close to Kutuzovskaya metro station (just 1 min walk) that is very important for those who are visiting Moscow for the first time. The apartment itself is quite large, very light and clean. It appeared to... More

Staying in Arbat

Neighbourhood Profile
Arbat
Crowds of tourists, both local and international take in Old Arbat and its modern and gigantic peer – New Arbat. One reason visitors keep coming is no doubt Konstantin Melnikov’s famous private house, now open to the public and worthy of a visit. After exploring one of the oldest parts of Moscow, avoid the crowds and turn to the side streets and boulevards where calmness and affordable food is plentiful.

“Advice: do not use the pick up service, ordering a taxi at the stand in the airport is cheaper; use Perekrestok supermarket, better choice and better prices; rely on your own soap bag, entertainment and knowledge of Russian migration laws.”
