NOT RECOMMENDED. The pictures are deceptive. The rooms are no where close to what it looks in the pictures. There is a weird smell when you enter the hostel. The reception is cramped and the common area is too small. Our room had a weird smell, the side wall was damp. Paint was chipping off the wall and it had...

I've been in the hostel on and off for about 1 month. The staff is very friendly and always ready to give good advice. It's a place I will miss because I've been sharing so many things with them. They have all the facilities I need like said it feels like home. There's a mall and grocery store right next...

Dirty linens and towel. Rude, aggressive staff. No security: front door was hardly ever locked and no lock on dorm room doors. Homeless people begging outside the hostel entrance. Wifi was weak and only worked in the common area. Showers and toilet areas were gross and broken (loose toilet seats and sinks that flooded). The mirrors are all covered in...

for P550 overnight, I got a bed in an all female 4-bed room. I did not ask if the rooms are non-smoking but looks like not because i don't smell any trace of it (and its good). You get a small common area and kitchen that may get very stuffy because no window to freely let the fresh air flow;...

The room we had was upstairs and the noise from the traffic made sure you didn't sleep in past 7 or so. The staff are nice but did not give us much information on arrival about things to do in area. Breakfast was good with selection of eggs, bread and fruit. Nice relaxed common area. One plus I really liked...

Stayed here for couple of months, There isn't anything like this hostel here in Makati. A place where you feel at home away from Home. Ryan, Joanna and the rest made me feel I'm part of the family and so the other guests feel the same. I always ask them to make me coffee even late at night and they...

This hostel is really super cheap & budget wise. Ever since I've stayed in MNL boracay, I started liking this hostel. When I got a chance to go to Makati, I tried staying in their hostel branch. Their staffs in Makati are super helpful. They allowed me to check in earlier than usual time. And they offered me free earplugs...

Located right in the middle of Manila's touritic Makati disctrict. This friendly and cozy social hostel has a relaxed yet social atmosphere. It features a small common area, a communal kitchen! It offers Plenty of tour options and the staff are just wonderful and helpful.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
MNL Boutique Hostel is a project of backpackers and well traveled friends that aims to showcase Filipino culture and hospitality in a clean, wholesome and welcoming environment. At MNL, we make sure that when you visit, it's like coming home to an old friend or reconnecting with a family member. We like sharing our stories and we'd also love to hear yours too -- perhaps over a cold bottle of San Miguel Beer.We believe that there is more to Manila than just a jump off point to the islands, that's why we make it a point to give our guests a memorable experience at the hostel. We added a "boutique" to our name because we believe that traveling on a budget does not mean that you have to let go of your comforts. At the same time, art pieces at the hostel depict a story that is truly Filipino -- from pop icons and national heroes to pieces of furniture to hand woven blankets by indigenous tribes.Lastly, we believe that there is nothing more comforting for a traveler in a foreign land than to meet a fellow traveler or to link with a local with the same interests. More than just a place to sleep, this camaraderie is what we build at MNL. ... more   less
