Had a great trip here in November 2013. Our guide Jose was extremely knowledgable, spoke perfect English (he knew all the technical terms and names of the flora and fauna) and had a really kind personality. The walk through the forest on our first afternoon was incredible and really interesting. We got really lucky on our trip to Lake Sandoval...

This is a place I would go back to - in a hurry. I found it to be a little 'garden of eden' right in the middle of the jungle. I CHOOSE to go during the wet season, so I could see more flowers & fruits in bloom or ripening. It was absolutely beautiful! The first day, I was a...

We spent 2 nights at Corto Maltes at the end of our 2 week Peru trip. The Good - The food. I liked the fruit, chicken, rice, and desserts. It was all somewhat standard but tasted good. - The guide. We had Manuel and we all liked him. He didn't just give the standard, "I've done this a million times"...

We enjoyed our stay here. Our grass-roofed cabins met our needs nicely. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was very good and artistically plated! Our guide was extremely well informed and personable. I recommend the experience of staying here. Very enjoyable and educational!

We just finished a 4n/5d stay at Corto Maltes. We had french-speaking Capi as our guide and he is awesome! He was clearly the best out of all the other guides around. Thanks to him we spotted much more wildlife than I would have expected and from other travellers accounts, more than all other groups that were with other guides,...

Our guide (Lucy) really made our stay at Corto Maltes great. We visited in the off season, and due to the low numbers of other guests we ended up with a private tour. While Lucy took us around the standard programme (which is a well worn trail), she made it special for us by focusing on finding birds (which is...

Basically we experienced the same as Leen70117 downstair (we were not in the same group). So just some hightlights: 1. The meals from the lodge was very tasty (not great amount, but very high quality) 2. We spoted a wild python on a trek, something very rare even for our guide. 3. There are 4 parrots/marcow in the lodge garden,...

Very accommodating staff, good meals, great jungle guide. They have two daily guided hikes available and one or two trips a day on the river or lake to view the wildlife. Our English speaking group consisted of only 3. It is a very multicultural lodge. Our guide, Lucy, was a local girl who was very sweet , knowledgeable, and personable. She...

This was a wonderful place to stay. I stayed with my husband and 2 children aged 12 & 14 for 4 nights and the whole trip was fantastic. The location is great - Peru is a country that requires you to make long journeys so a relatively short one fro Puerto Maldonado was a relief. The grounds and the lodges...
