We booked through booking.com and after the booking we were requested to pay 50% in advance by Western Union to confirm our booking. We were in contact by what's app and email contact about the transfer with Cocoblanco (Manuel) and got immediate reaction that our money was received. After that it became silent, and contact was not possible anymore (we requested to know the pick up time and location since we also paid for transport services but never received any answers). Email bounced back and what's app was never read by Cocoblanco organization. Now we had to cancel the booking because of personal reasons. We requested to get the money back (minus the cancellation fee). Again no contact is possible and booking.com does also not help or respond to our support request. Donot book through booking.com, we lost 660 USD (with 400 USD as cancellation fee)! We are wondering if this is a scam....…
We selected Cabanas Coco Blanco through Panama Travel Unlimited- Day Tours for a two day, one night stay. While the website did seem more glamorous (probably older photos), the actual accommodations were a bit more aged than expected. The boat ride was anything short of fancy, and the food served was not gourmet. The bathrooms "with running water" may fall a bit short of expectation (you have to let them know when you are ready to shower and they turn on the hot water) and I don't even think the toilet flushed.... However, it is definitely a life changing experience! Let's be honest, you selected this excursion for the sunshine, clear waters and sandy beach! And on that note, it definitely delivers! Seeing the Kuna Yala people and meeting the family that serves you is a cultural experience in itself. We were actually stuck in a thunderstorm overnight which made the experience exhilarating in a different way! It definitely is a life changing experience and I highly recommend it! Perhaps you may want to look into other islands/hotels but from what I heard or saw they are not much different across each island.... Take the plunge and go!…
The island is one of the most beautiful places in the world . Getting there isn't cheap but worth it . The road to san blas is difficult by car so it is most recommended to travel there by plane . On the island there is a worm family providing you fresh food three times a day Must see attraction
With a group of 5 other friends we planned to stay some days there. We rented 3 private cabanas with private bathrooms. We were told by the travel agency they had water and electricity worked every day after 6 pm. None of that was true. Actually only one day they worked. The rest we had to bath in the sea and use buckets with sea water every time we used the bathrooms (if we can say these were toilets). Food was basic. No fruits and wait a lot for the dishes arrive. The area were we eat was destroyed and every time it rained raindrops in our meals. The only thing I can rate as fabulous was the scenery. Paradise islands. The infrastructure needs to be repaired urgently. Pictures talk by themselves.
The island cabanas need refurbishing, the bathroom is dirty, you have to bring the sea water by yourself to flush the toilet. For a such small island, the agencies bring to much people. Most of them are there for a day, and in case of rain they have to hide under others people cabanas. The food is simple: rice, piece of fish and some salad. There is lot of dirt laying evrywhere around, nobody is taking care of it. We had a trip to the other island, it was much cleaner and mire pleasant. Anyway, the sea is clean and warm, and if you have nice weather, it can be nice.
