This hotel is perfect for someone on a budget. It is clean and the staff is friendly. I recommend it highly! This hotel was utilized for a period of one week. It is extremely good value. There are many restaurants nearby. It is a good location for travelling to Boquete which I was doing all week.

This hotel is centally located to many stores in downtown David. It is a clean, simple, quiet hotel, with a very satisfactory restaurant, amiable service and great capucino. Friends had recommended the hotel and since they made the reservations, for the first time I visited a hotel that was not reviewed. The room is simple. Clean, bed, desk, night tables, no reading lamps, great cable TV with english, friendly and polite staff, WIFI and internet machines for $1.00. Left some purchases in the storage room, requested a transport to pick up and everything was delivered to the ultimate destination. Loved the food, especially the capucino's, the staff and the central location. David is not a destination of choice, but the Hotel Alcala was a pleasant surprise.

Hotel Alcala is a very good hotel bargain. It was a blessing after the long drive from Chitre to David. The government is adding more lanes to the main highway and the trip can take up to 4 1/2 hours. When we got to the hotel it was raining hard; we were pleasantly surprised because the hotel has indoor parking very close to the entrance. The room was very clean with two beds; the a/c was a little noisy, but we were so tired, we did not hear it. The bathroom was very clean and adequate, with no frills. The hotel could add one more chair to the rooms. We liked the food at the restaurant. Very inexpensiveand abundant. In sum, we liked Hotel Alcala. Because of the location, we should have stayed longer than two nights. Next time, we will.

Located in the towncenter Alcala offers clean but simple rooms for a very decent price. Good for a couple of nights when you need to be in David (who wants to be anyway...). Nice restaurant with a super Tenderloin that sets you back only 9 USD. Strange that a breakfast with an omlette, a glass of juice and a cup of tea costs you almost the same. Meaning dinner is cheap, breakfast is not.

Stay at the Alcala and you won't have any surprises. You will know the rate, have great security, clean rooms and good food. This is not 5 star and there are better hotels in David but most of them are also more expensive. Save your money, I mean, it is only for sleeping mostly right? And use it for other more important things!
One thing though, there is no elevator and all the rooms are up a pretty high flight of stairs. There usually are no bellboys to carry your luggage.

This hotel was very close to the center of town. It was a great place to use if you're stopping over in David. I found this hotel to be very comfortable and convenient with location. The room came with a nice queen-sized bed and WiFi. The bathroom has walk-in shower with hot water. There is a restaurant onsite with drinks and food for a bargain price that provides room service. There are also restaurant options outside of the hotel within walking distance. Bus station is just minutes away in Taxi ($1.50) if you are continuing on to travel to Boquete or Bocas del Toro. The airport is just 20 minutes away in Taxi ($2.50) if you are flying out to Panama City via Air Panama. I highly recommend this hotel for stopover (1-3 days). Happy Travels!!!

The rooms have AC, TV´s and are very clean and quiet. The staff are friendly. Highly recommended if you need to stay in David. David is a very hot city and it was very welcoming to come home to a cool room with AC that worked quickly. Excellent value overall.

Nice hotel! Wife and I stayed here twice during our 6 week Panama trip. Nice reception area, very helpful, good clean hallways and room. Hotel is a 3 story building with good parking below. A ten minute walk to Central Park. Also a good restaurant open all day till 10:00pm. A good and varied menu but one dish is horse. Fish was good $9:00, fillet mignon $10 was acceptable, nice fruit salad $2, Meet Jesus the bartender!! Very friendly staff including the housekeepers! A double was $44 with good free parking.

Most people don't go to David just for fun, but if you do need a hotel in the city, Hotel Alcala is a very nice, clean, hotel, with huge rooms, located in the centro. There's a plainly decorated restaurant with great breakfasts and a cute little bar with a very nice bartender.

Dear Melisa,
You will probably need to contact the hotel directly for further information. I am able to respond to your inquiry more than gladly. I noticed that their parking lot is secure and have 24 hour security as well. They have a restaurant and provide room service too. Local food restaurants are all around the place.
Hope you find this information useful. Enjoy your trip!
