Clean rooms and at $42 for two persons, a very good price for Carnival time. Within easy walking distance from the main downtown Plaza. There are actually two hotels under the same name & management, less than one block apart: Hotel Iberia has a nice restaurant included inside and Hotel Iberia Sur is just down the street. Air-conditioning worked, linen was clean and service was friendly. I have stayed at the Iberia Sur hotel many times and even for weeks at a time.

We have stayed at Hotel Iberia since 2007. At that time, the price per night was $35. It has always been clean and 'safe' and there is a little restaurant downstairs. This November we stayed at Iberia Sur for the first time. It was great!! The beds, sheets, towels were 'first class', at least for $55/ night. The staff speaks a little English, and are helpful. We had an early morning departure and our bellman haled a truck cab to fit all our 'stuff'. Would definitely stay there again and do not hesitate to recommend Hotel Iberia Sur or Hotel Iberia.

I was traveling with my father-in-law and brother-in-law on a working vacation. We were stuck in David during Semana Santa (Easter week) when things in Western Panama are booked solid for the holiday. Our vacation rental let us know there were "title issues" the afternoon we were supposed to check in.
Travel guides seemed to give good reviews and reasonable price for Hotel Iberia, and all we were looking for was a clean, safe place to spend the night. It was so convenient with friendly staff and a reasonable little restaurant that we stayed for three nights before moving on.
The rooms were basic, the air conditioning worked great (a plus in the hot city of David during the dry season) and the restaurant was consistent and satisfying.
The biggest plus of this place was the staff. Smiling, hard working, friendly, and always helpful.
A delightful find in a potential crisis situation.

After reading TA we chose the Hotel Iberia when arriving by bus from Costa Rica at about 8:30pm. The staff offered to hold our bags behind the counter so that we could eat before checking in & phoned over to their other building (Iberia Sur) to let them know we'd be over shortly. We had phoned ahead from the bus & they had let us know that it would be a $2.00 taxi ride from the bus stop that was about 3-5 min. ride away.

Later on our way back through David we stayed a second night. Front desk folks were very helpful with directions. We again ate at their little restaurant which was a good value with professional, helpful staff.

The rooms are basic, butvwith a/c, cable tv, & private bathroom with hot water the clean accomodations were definately worth the $35/night.

I stayed at Hotel Iberia in David Chirque Panama. It is a brand new hotel. Paid US$35 a night, for a small room, good bed, hot water (only in the shower), air conditioning and satellite TV. It has good security, front desk clerk has to buzz you into the stair case leading to the upper floors. No elevator.

We visit David every few years as we have family here. The hotel is clean, safe, and comfortable. We absolutely love the restaurant as the food is tasty, the service good, and prices are very reasonable. The hotel and restaurant are air conditioned. I would definitely recommend this hotel and especially the restaurant.

Stayed at Iberia for one night- not too bad.
The hotel staff is very slow, don't expect quick check-in & check-out. The room had a queen bed, a window, small fridge, and bathroom with shower.
Breakfast is not included in $38.00 per night room rate, however the restaurant prices are not too bad.
Average hotel for average price, nothing special.

Prior to leaving the states we had chosen Hotel Iberia for it's close location to family and downtown and booked two rooms. The reviews were somewhat positive and the price of $33 a night plus taxes for a single offseason room was reasonable.

Long story short:
1. The room was tiny. The bed was even tinier.
2. Only 2 towels and 2 pillows provided. Refused to provide more when asked.
3. Shower door fell off at first use.
4. A/C did not work.
5. No elevator, and no A/C in the building.
6. They shut off the A/C when we left. Wanted to charge us $15 per day to keep it on to keep the room cool.
7. Room was generally aged in appearance. The pillows were old and flat. Bedding was old and not very comfortable.
8. Hotel manager was rude and unhelpful. Made no attempt to remedy the situation.

We checked out of both rooms first thing the next morning.

In contrast. we moved to Hotel Castilla. A/C in entire building, security cameras, helpful staff, large updated rooms, all the towels and pillows we wanted and basically everything you expect in a hotel plus great service for the same price.

This hotel is clean and off of the main road, but not far from it. The prices are reasonable (the "special" discounted rate is the standard; the "standard" rate is used during special occasions, such as Carnaval.) The restaurant, which can be accessed without even walking outside, is one of the pricier options in David, but as far as I can tell, it is also one of the best. I'm not sure what else to say about a hotel that gives you exactly what it promises; perhaps that is it. There was one problem; our A/C was loud. Try the A/C out before you stay.

"All rooms have 'black out' curtains. The hotel is near an emergency or ambulance service, so the rooms nearest that side are probably slightly noisy. We did not notice any noise after about nIne PM and that was the location of our room...probably west facing. No noticable AC noise, but need the room card for AC."
