Tranquilize yourself in the serenity and the breathtaking beauty of the scenic mountain landscapes, rivers and waterfalls. Boquete is the perfect place for adventure, nature and relaxation. The region is sometimes called “Little Switzerland” because of the Alpine-style houses and the influence of Swiss and Yugoslav settlers. The cool, crisp air is a nice change from the everyday city life. Overlooking the lush green South-eastern valleys, situated in the heart of nature, Hotel Central Boquete brings you a tiny piece of heaven on earth. Built on an earlier existing home of the famous music composer Chalo Brenes, known for his piano lessons to many local residents as well as his famous, and long running musical “La Cucaracha”, this building has rendered services to guests from all over the world for many years. Now renovated and with a complete face-lift, Hotel Central Boquete is set to offer more than ever, with a blend of ancient architecture and modern class facilities. This hotel is situated in the east of Nat. Park, Volcano Baru and south of the Amistad,(friendship), International Peace Park. Boquete is also a border town to the over a Million strong Nöbe/ Bugle Tribe’s newly formed homeland. It is called a Comarca, with more independence than a normal Indian Reservation in the USA. Overlooking the South-eastern valley, this property brings you closer to nature than ever. With multiple suites and rooms, the hotel offers many personalized features to its guests. The full buffet breakfast is available from 8 to 10 am and our famous "Super Oatmeal" with Walnuts, Almonds, Dried Blueberries, Prunes, and the delicious sweet butter from Denmark and American Style flavored Oatmeal sis available from 7 to 10am. It is included free of charge when your reservation includes breakfast! Whether you are looking for a relaxing break, romantic gateway or an adventurous trip, the hotel facilitates all your desires under one roof ranging from large hammocks under the big shade tree on the back terrace and an open air Jacuzzi, (available 24/7), to many organized outdoor adventures and tours. Beautiful morning sunlight, chirping of the birds and an astounding view of the valley, one can certainly be mesmerized but wait! That’s not all… Make your mornings fresher than ever with aromatic scent of our coffee shop, Café Central, as Boquete is well known for its coffee and judged to be among the finest in the world. Have a sit and relax. Try a piece of our delicious pie! Café Central opens at 7:00 am, the earliest coffee shop around, plus we have drive thru service. Closes at 10:30 pm. .

The rooms with private bathroom are ideal for spending the night, they have large windows that provide lots of light and mosquito netting to prevent the entry of insects, ceiling fan, TV, WiFi, comfortable beds, bathrooms with all the necessary amenities, towels and sheets excellent.
The personnel is very friendly. They guided us to choose high-impact excursions: coffee plantations, Bocas del Toro, transfers, restaurants.
The exquisite breakfast, changes every day and is very complete.
Recommended 100%.

The owner Tim Zeller is a tireless slave who oversees a meticulously run operation dedicated to making ones stay a value and pleasure. His Integrity is beyond reproach and his well trained staff assures his guest of Great Gourmet and Traditional Coffee, Super Clean Rooms, and linens, along with a breakfast buffet which is a super fresh value including fresh juices, eggs, bacon or ham, hash browns, his proprietary coffee blend or tea and even a nut and fruit granola or oatmeal to take with you if you hike or sight see.. Its is such a beautiful experience sharing experiences with his clientele which are from every country it seems, all are friendly and smiling and at this open air dining on the terrace overlooking the landscape which usually includes rainbows and great fresh mountain air! I hope you can get a room and don't be afraid to stay a few days longer for a tranquil rest and maybe a great Jacuzzi while you watch a mountain lighting storm in the distance.

We stayed here for a week and happy we did so.

Tim Zellmer keeps the place extremely clean and organized. The hotel is located at the north end of Boquete but very close to some excellent restaurants. All of Boquete is within easy walking distance from the hotel.

We hired Tim’s son, Luis, to drive us the hot springs, the caldera waterfalls and the caldera mini canyon. All excellent stops to visit. Luis did a great job driving!

The breakfasts here are tasty and Tim serves outstanding coffee. Laundry services are available with a very quick turnaround time.

Tim is super host and full of very useful information. We highly recommend the hotel central.

Ps-we had a rainbow and sometimes a double rainbow outside our window every day.

This was a great place to stay for us and our 3 year old son. The staff were so friendly and made a real fuss of our son so he loved it too. Great to have a lovely garden for him to run about in and our room was bright, clean and airy. Breakfast was really lovely, and great to eat outside on the terrace. All the staff were really helpful with advice on how to get to some walks that we wanted to do (Pipeline Trail and Sendoros Los Quetzales). They also helped organise our transfer to Bocas del Toro.

We stayed here for 11 days and had a wonderful time. The hotel itself is clean and pleasant. They serve a wonderful breakfast every morning ( make sure you sign up for the breakfast plan, it’s well worth it). Tim and his staff are incredibly accommodating and friendly. We felt like a part of the family. Tim is very knowledgeable about the area and will answer any questions you have. We heard him say multiple times, “How can I make your day better today?” It was a good value and we enjoyed our stay tremendously.

We've visited the Hotel Central a few times this week... We keep going back for coffee, cappuccinos, and meals. Timothy, the owner, is so very helpful with questions we have about Panama and Boquete, and a super nice guy. Don't hesitate to go to his coffee shop! The hotel is beautiful too...

We arrived for the first time in Boquete and the staff was very friendly, helpful in every way. The breakfast was freshly made for you every day. The coffee shop is outstanding. The rooms is very nice. We felt at home. We ended up staying 20 days. Was sad when we left. They all are like family to us now. Can’t wait to come back to see them in February 2022.
Thanks for everything you all did for us. We miss you.

Not only the price for room/services is extremely high with no actual reason, but also the owner, Timothy, a middle aged American man, is extremely unfriendly, rude and aggressive with his customers.
Worst experience not only in Panama but in the entire Central America!!!
I highly recommend to avoid it and look up for better accommodations!

Mr Tim, the owner, an expat form wisconsin, was SO, nice, helpful, attentive, it was almost too much. He proposed some excussions, made phone calls and arrange for us our day, took care to provide english speaking guides. We decided to leave our car there when we went to Bocas, he kept an eye on it at no charge. He change our view of Panama, made us appreciate the country. Thank you Mr Tim for everything.

For the basics it is ideal. Not many frills accommodation. Conveniently located with very friendly and welcoming staff. A good breakfast and excellent coffee. Almost instant hot water for showers. Our room was adequate but smallish and the separate shower and toilet were also small but worked. One caveat, no A/C but not really needed BUT to open the windows to allow the breeze through at night but still keeping the blinds drawn (for privacy) meant that the blinds were constantly knocking due to the air flow. There should be a better way???

Hi Everyone! We have 13 rooms, 11 of which have private bathrooms with showers. Only the two rooms called: "Double Room with Shared Bathrooms" have no bathroom and they are the only two rooms using this large private bathroom with hot shower. Please note: We also have two public bathrooms on the Terrace and a fun hot outdoor shower just around the corner from the Hammocks under the large shade tree. This is great for those who want to enjoy the Hot Jacuzzi available 24/7 on the back Terrace!! You can see a full description, size, and photos of all rooms and the property. Just google our name and IT WILL come up: HOTEL CENTRAL BOQUETE Tim and Fela Owners/ Operators Hotel Central Boquete Café Central
