This place is stunning, there are a number of walks, including through the coffee farm, around the property and you are provided with a map of gear when you check in. The room I had was very comfortable and spacious, with the highlight a hammock out front where you can enjoy the garden and view outside the rooms. The wifi was fantastic and available throughout a lot of the property. The restaurant is a short walk downhill from the rooms, which has a good selection of dishes to choose from and the food is dry good.

I was excited about staying at a resort on a coffee farm. Finca Lerida exceeded all of my expectations. What a stunningly beautiful coffee farm. The resort is completely surrounded by endless rows of coffee. Coffee plants and beans are everywhere. There is also gorgeous flowers and fruit trees all around. Did you know there was such a thing as pink bananas? I didn't until I came here.

The room was nice, the beds were comfortable, and I was surprised to get very good water pressure and hot water up in the mountains so far away from the city.

The staff was also great. I was having problems with transportation to Bocas del Toro, and Haydee at the front desk was extremely helpful getting me updated information and offering me advice. She also speaks fluent English which really helped. In the restaurant, Roosevelt was charming for dinner. Our family had nice conversations with him and he made good wine recommendations. There was also a mother and son who worked earlier in the day who were equally as enjoyable. On top of that, the food was first-class. My wife literally came home and has been trying to recreate the salmon with passion fruit sauce they served. So good. Then .... there is the Coffee Master Jose. We took a tour of the coffee farm with Jose. I wish I could spend a year listening to him talk about coffee. Jose knows coffee better than I know myself. He made the tour very interesting and I learned so much about coffee. He's also rather funny. While I can only remember a few names, every staff member I encountered was great. I miss this place already.

We spent three nights at the Finca Lerida. This is a working coffee farm and though we did not take an actual tour of the farm (they offer them), we hiked the grounds and observed all of the workers performing their various tasks. This place is amazing, very lush and peaceful. We stayed in a Deluxe room which had plenty of space with a very comfortable king size bed. The restaurant is excellent and the staff very attentive (George and Roosevelt). You will definitely want to have dinner there at least one night. Breakfast is very good and relaxing sitting outside. The property sits at approximately 5,000 feet and it takes about 25 minutes to drive from Boquete to Finca Lerida. The road is steep and winding, drive carefully (especially at night) as there are people and dogs walking on the road. It is easy to get a taxi if you want to go into town at night for dinner (highly recommend Fernando 507 6792-2247...he gave his permission to refer him).

It was our second stay at Finca Lérida. We enjoyed it even better than the first one four years ago, as we stayed longer and really took time to appreciate the spectacular setting high up in the mountains, the quaint hotel cottages, the gardens full of colourful bushes and trees, the tropical birds chirping and flying around all day long, the mountain trails inside the very large property, the detailed visit of the works at the coffee plantation...
The hotel being 10 minutes by car outside of Boquete town and into the Lérida estate, it is very quiet at all times of the day, making it a peaceful retreat ideal to rest while enjoying the beautiful nature around. Still, it is easy to get a taxi to drive to town or hire a guide to walk the numerous trails within the Parque Nacional Volcán Barú. Do not miss the Pipeline trail where if lucky you will observe the elusive and magnificent quetzal bird!
The hotel restaurant sources produce from local farms and from within the estate itself, therefore everything served at breakfast, lunch and dinner is fresh, tasty and healthy.
Lastly, the hotel staff was extremely kind and attentive, making us feel truly at home. In particular Vilma, Hermes, Jorge and Roosevelt at the restaurant, and of course Juan Carlos the resident manager.
We will be back next year for sure!

We were disappointed with several aspects of our stay:
1) We stayed in the "deluxe" hammock rooms. Note they are NOIT heated and over New Year's the weather was down in the '50's, since in the afternoon, clouds and a cold north wind blows. Bathroom with cold tile floor and no heat lamp.
2)There is no privacy at the rooms near the parking, since the access path from the parking to all the rooms goes right next to the hammocks.
3)Families from Panama City come here for New Year's and, unfortunately, do not discipline their small children in the rooms nor in the dining room...so it is not the quiet retreat it appears to be.
4)We spent 4 nights and the adult oriented Gastropub (up by the hammock rooms) was open only 1 of the 4.
Let the buyer beware...

I went to Boquete had reservations for another hotel (Boquete Garden Inn) and conditions there were totally unacceptable. We called Finca Lerida and they had two rooms available on short notice and we were able to be accommodated. What a relief! The reservation person actually gave us a discount on our two room also! Outstanding breakfast was included. Fruit, coffee, tea and different options such as omelets to order, pancakes, waffles both with protein options. We actually fed the beautiful birds with papaya and Pina pieces. The grounds were exquisite. Beautiful flowers and beautifully manicured. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The cafe had first rate coffee and flavorful cakes and muffins. their dining room was beautiful for dining inside and outside. Rooms were very comfortable with very nice bedding and relaxing showers with personal bath robes. WiFi was very good and we enjoyed it watching movies while swinging in our personal hammocks. Hummingbirds and other colorful beautiful birds were everywhere. They also have a colorful peacock on premises. My mother from the US really enjoyed her stay. I also left with several bags of their best tasting coffees in Panama.

Spectacular experience at Finca Lerida during Christmas 2024.
Very grateful to all the hotel and restaurant team. The room was clean and prepared to welcome family, while the selection of restaurant dishes, both for breakfast and lunch/meal was very wide and excellent.

Perhaps it would only be good to have tourist brochures of other activities that can be done in the sector (not necessarily in the hotel), especially those that are recommended as a family or not.

Special mention to George, Roosevelt, Elias, Edward and Felix.

Finca Lerida is in the mountains a bit away from Boquete town center. The rooms, garden and the landscape is amazing. Our room was all white and nicely finished. There is a bar in the same part of the hotel where they had a fireplace that they lighted up every evening making a fantastic relaxing by atmosphere.
However the praised La Brulerie restaurant was quite underwhelming: the food was good, but generally 50% more expensive then elsewhere in Boquete and the quality did not support that surcharge. On top of this, service was so lousy that we even complained to the manager. But again, the location saves it all: you have a direct view at the valley and mountains from the patio.
Overall, actually I was a bit happy that there was some aspect of our stay that was bad, since this way my heartache was not so strong when we left this little paradise.

2023 - A peaceful stay with a breathtaking view straight out of an enchanted movie. The cabins are warm and welcoming, simply spectacular, the hiking trail is a must do and the coffee is delicious, even purchased a few to take home. Plan on returning very soon.

I've given Finca Lerida one star because the gardens are very beautiful and well-kept. That is the only positive thing I can say about it. I had a "deluxe room" which was a joke. It couldn't have been more basic and the bathroom smelled of drains. It is way out of town so you would think they would provide somewhere cosy to sit in the evenings. Dream on. There is only the over-priced restaurant. The bar is always empty because it is so uninviting when it is open. The coffee shop (as they call it) basically a coffee machine and a few cakes is staffed by the most unfriendly, grumpy people you could ever meet. But that is not surprising as all the staff must have played hookey on the day of the customer service course. Not a single one ever smiled or said anything pleasant throughout my entire stay. They provide a shuttle into town but only one way. They won't bring you back but they told me they could arrange a taxi for around 20 dollars. It turns out that if you take a taxi from town it only costs 8 dollars. I'm desperately searching for the up side but the isn't one. I hope with this review to remove it from my memories.
