We stayed at the Inn at Palo in early December. Room eight had a lovely view of the garden as well as the mountains.. The room was fairly basic no heat no air conditioning, but we didn’t need it. There was a great breeze coming through the large windows. Grounds are fantastic full of flowers and hummingbirds. We enjoyed having a drink at the bar late night as well as using the hot tub. Staff was helpful and responsive.
The day we were leaving, we hiked the El Pianista Trail which starts 10 minutes up the road. We Came back to have a great breakfast which included a bloody Mary, salmon and omelettes cooked to order. (all included with the stay.) best breakfast we’ve had in Panama.
Overall, a perfect experience

I very highly recommend the Inn at Palo Alto if you are planning a trip to Boquete. You'll be treated to outstanding views of the Palo Alto River, particularly at breakfast. Marcelo at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful, willing to call taxis into town or recommend places to eat. My wife and I arrived at the hotel before check in to do an excursion, and while we were away, Marcelo had checked us in and brought our bags to our room.

The property is pretty small and there are only about 10 or so units. We stayed at a very nice room just a few steps away from the pool and hot tub. Our room was very nice, had ample community space, plenty of places to charge our devices, and appliances.

The hotel is an easy (downhill), roughly 35 minute walk into downtown Boquete. If you are coming here without a car (like we did), you should not let the distance bother you, both because Marcelo or others from the front desk will be able to order you a cab and finding a cab in Boquete for your trip back should only take you a few minutes since there are plenty of cabs in town. We took this trip in Nov 2022 and it cost $4 to get between the hotel and downtown and $1 more if you called ahead for a cab.

I highly recommend The Inn at Palo Alto for it's great location, outstanding views, and friendly and helpful staff.

Unfortunately we had to change our route, because the weather was bad. We communicated in time that we unfortunately could not come to this hotel, but could no longer cancel free of charge when booking. In the end they were able to rent out the room and the hotel reimbursed a part back to us on its own. Very good service and got quick answer via whatsapp. Top service!

We were 7 adults and took the family suite but it is not suitable for 7 adults. The room was good but the mezzanine is difficult to access with a very narrow spiral staircase and low ceiling. The sofa bed in the room is not comfortable. Small swimming pool but large, warm and pleasant jacuzzi! Good location for hiking and about 5-10 minutes from the city by car.

The Inn at Palo Alto is lovely to look at, however I would never stay there again nor recommend
anyone else does. There is no one on site or any emergency contact number posted after 9
PM. At 9:30 we had a significant and scary electrical problem in our room (overhead light
would not turn off and there was cracking noise at the wall switch). The owner’s parents live on
the property so we went to them for help and they just shouted at us through a closed window
to, “Go to sleep.” Would that we could! Eventually the owner, Justin, showed up and treated
us extremely dismissively but did change our room. All of this soured us on our experience and
I have no reason to believe it will be

My family traveled around Panama for 2 weeks and stayed in 5 different hotels. Every place we stayed in treated us with so much care and hospitality. This place had none! It’s unfortunate because the hotel is in a very pretty location. It’s run down but pretty but the owners are uncaring. It’s very obvious they treat their staff badly too because the staff don’t seem to care about your stay either. The buildings are very run down and nothing is being upkept. The website says a free welcome drink and when we asked about it they said they don’t do that. They also offer no bottled water at all. Every hotel we stayed in had free water and they had none. Not even when you arrived after a long day of travel. So anytime we ran out of water we had to make our way into town to get it. It also says there is a Panini bar and they offer no food except breakfast. Very inconvenient for a family after long days of sight seeing. This place just lacked care. The power goes out every night which is normal but there are no flashlights available or lanterns. Nothing helpful here. The worst part was the owner sits at breakfast every morning talking loudly about weird politics and complaining about his staff. This hotel is very misrepresented with lies on their website. We had meals at other places in Boquete and everyone was kind and helpful. So many great places to stay in Boquete. This is not the place.

My family visited for three days/nights in July and I wish we could've stayed longer. The location is a 3 minute drive from town up the mountain and the views are spectacular. The property is intimate with a dozen or so rooms and the gardens, pool, and sitting areas are lovely. My daughter especially loved the hummingbirds. Our room was a good size, very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and exceeded our expectations and the cooks/staff were incredibly attentive.

All of the staff were wonderful but Marcelo went above and beyond with everything we requested/needed. He communicated with me the week before our check-in to answer all of my questions. I changed our plans last-minute after our arrival for logistic reasons (sorry!) but Marcelo was able to schedule another tour for us with very little notice. He gave great recommendations for restaurants/things to do and made excellent cocktails with fresh ingredients from the garden. We can't wait to return and will definitely be staying at the Inn at Palo Alto again.

A place that connects you to nature. Located next to the Palo Alto River, full of gardens and a beautiful view of the Barú Volcano. The rooms are very comfortable, fresh and well clean. Breakfast is very complete: with local fruits, yogurt, cereals, eggs, salmon, bacon, sausages, breads, pancakes, bagels, coffee, tea and mimosas. Very safe, the staff very friendly, especially Margarita. They have contact with local restaurants and activity and excursion companies.

This hotel is nestled above town , has lovely views , but limited service . I chose this hotel as I loved the view . I was disappointed with the small window in my room providing a tiny view. Ask for a room with a big window .The hotel is quiet and close enough to to town , were there are great restaurants .
The Styrofoam cups for coffee and plastic cups for water in the rooms somehow do not fit with the pristine surroundings .
Breakfast is from 8 am onwards - so if you have a earlier check out due to a flight you will have no breakfast or coffee , other than coffee in your room . There is no other meals or snacks available other than breakfast - So the service in this hotel is limited .

After much research I decided to stay at the Inn at Palo Alto with my family of 7…all adults. What a magical place this is. From the moment we entered the flowered gates we were struck by the majestic beauty of this hidden paradise. The staff could not have been more accommodating and helpful! Each night ended with a drink by the fire place or a soak in the hot tub overlooking a lush forest. We stayed in the family suite with amazing views, a full kitchen, private room for us and a loft for my boys. We can’t wait to return

We have no pool, don't know where you got that idea. We are a bed and breakfast hotel. The river is very cold, but feel free to put your feet in it. Our double rooms have 1 queen bed with twin size trundle bed that pulls out underneath. You can fly into David Airport and we can arrange to have you picked up. thank you for your inquiry. judi
