Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

The place was wonderful. Had everything we needed and listening to the creek out the bathroom and balcony was heavenly. We bought food and made breakfast so did not try the breakfast there. It was nice having the restaurant next door when it rained but everything downtown was within walking distance.

Beautiful boutique property in downtown (Bajo) Boquete. Charming, individual casitas, each with kitchenette, nestled in a private botanical garden. Just a 5-minute walk from downtown Boquete. Coffee shop and top rated restaurant located right on property.

I recently enjoyed a 26 day stay in the Girafa suite while exploring the town of Boquete. The hotel is located an easy two block walk to the town's restaurants and shops. Stunning, lush tropical gardens; clean, spacious suite with plenty of hot water, comfortable bed, functional kitchen, dining and living areas. My suite also had its own covered veranda to sit out and enjoy the garden views, listen to the birds and hear the sounds of the river rushing by. Friendly, customer oriented staff who always went out of their way to answer my questions and provide assistance when needed. Highly recommend Keyla, a holistic, massage therapist who came to my suite for a wonderful, energetic massage. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the onsite cafe and restaurant were not open for me to enjoy. Looking forward to seeing my Isla Verde friends when I return to Boquete to live.

Awful service, it’s supposed to be a hotel but it’s actually a hostel as you are supposed to do most of the cleaning even though you are charged a cleaning fee. We had to wash most of the dishes because they had leftover food stuck to them, the beds were hard and small and the pillows were like little bricks, the fridge was warm and leaking water. No wonder it was the only “hotel” available. The only good thing about this “hotel” were the two cats and Jose Manuel, the girl with the glasses should consider doing something else, she is extremely rude and TERRIBLE at customer service. We had an issue and we were discussing it with Jose Manuel because she was escalating the whole thing with her snarky comments and know-it-all attitude and as soon as we crossed the door she insulted us, we went back and told her off because that is truly unacceptable and you can tell that she only cares about a certain type of people. I would much rather sleep on a wooden board floating in the middle of the Caldera river than coming back to this place!

This is a very nice place to stay for few days when you are visiting Boquete. Nice villa with a restaurant on site, accommodation comes with kitchen and private bathroom. Basic cook ware are provided, lots of serving bowls, plates and glasses available. Coffee and tea also provided.
Lots of fruit trees also around property, which is nice.
The only thing is not working when we stay there is no hot water for shower. Talked to front desk and was told that was due to water pressure, they try to fix it but didn’t work the entire time we were there.

Lovely hotel within beautiful gardens. Each room is part of an individual two storey unit. Fairly well equipped for self catering if required. Friendly staff. We tried several amenities including massage and yoga. These weee exceptional value and thoroughly recommended.

This hotel has some beautiful gardens and is right next to the river. It is two blocks from the main avenue and the casitas/rooms are great. They are clean, have kitchenettes and wifi. There is a spa on the premises (great by the way) and the desk staff are friendly and very helpful.

Location was great. Cats that greeted us great. Afternnon Staff didn't help us with bags and seemed disengaged. Morning staff nicer and more helpful. Room was ok, beds were hard. Room's Location great next to a stream. Grounds had wonderful vegetation. Down side of all that green was the snake on the path to our room. Location to downtown was great. Overall would say a great place to stay for younger crowd.

Isla Verde is most likely my #1 hotel after 20 days around Panama. Boquete has the best climate in the country: 1000 meters elevation, breeze, and the most beautiful fauna. The lodge is gorgeous, spacious in the middle of a manicured tropical garden along a fresh mountain stream. I can't stop raving about this place, so do NOT hesitate to reserve your stay at Isla Verde.

WIFI is free but sometimes it cuts out temporarily. Not a big deal, but a minor annoyance.

I'm not sure what a longer term stay would cost. I suggest contacting the owner directly through their email account. She's a delightfully engaging lady and I'm sure she'd be willing to take on a monthly guest. Isla Verde would be a great place to experience Boquete for a month.

Yes they are absolutely open. We stayed there in late Feb and it was lovely. Your problem may be that Trip Advisor has it listed in the "B & B inns & Speciality" instead of the hotel listings for Boquete.

What is Puerto Madero cabin like? WiFi, humidity, quiet, etc?
Answer from trmwilliams
Phoenix, Arizona108 contributions67 helpful votes
I don't see Puerto Madero as one of the suites on their web page so maybe this cabin is one of the roundhouses? The roundhouses are closer to the main office and I'm sure are fairly quiet as is most of the property. I stayed in Mariposa Suite which is closer to the restaurant. The wi fi there was not that great inside the room but like others said we just went out on the patio or into the common areas for better reception. I was told that the closer you are to the main office, the better the wi fi reception gets. One thing to note with the roundhouses is that they have no outdoor private space; ie, a patio or balcony. Inside they are nice and spacious, but the lack of a patio was an issue for us. We also had no problems with the humidity and we have been there both in high and low season.
