Beautiful hotel in the mountains with views of the Baru volcano. Each family rents its own private bungalow or villa, spotlessly clean with clean linen and its own kitchenette and a balcony on which to sit out and enjoy the view. Quiet and peaceful, could not ask for more! Breakfast included is tasty and enjoyable as well. And the staff could not be more welcoming, friendly and helpful - just terrific. A beautiful getaway to a serene place, we highly recommend!

It was nice and comfortable to stay in the 2 bedroom bungalow. The staff was very attentive to bringing in breakfast on time, providing fresh towels, and cleaning when needed. The management was excellent. We will definitely come back when we come to Panama. Our sons and daughter-in-law got to see a quetzal!

The view from this Inn was spectacular. We stayed in a very spacious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom villa with large windows and balcony overlooking the tropical surrounds with the most amazing view of the Volcano Baru in front of us. The staff at the Inn was extraordinarily helpful with every possible need from arranging taxis into town to dinner reservations to tours. Tiffany even called a tour company for me that was running late that I had separately arranged to find their location. Also, on the first day the manager was kind enough to even drop us into town so that we could grab lunch versus waiting for a taxi. This was definitely the best Inn we stayed in during our time in Panama and the location just a little ways out of town was perfect. I would highly recommend staying here for anyone visiting Boquete! This was one of the highlights of our visit.

What a beautiful place to stay! We loved our time here. The location is the best of both worlds - very close to town and all of the things to do in Boquete, while still feeling very secluded, quiet and peaceful. Breakfast every morning was delicious and all of the staff are warm, friendly and made our stay truly wonderful. We had to leave very early on our final morning to catch a flight, so they even dropped off breakfast for us the prior afternoon. Our favorite part of the trip was enjoying the beautiful views of rainbows from the patio.

I believe that the location is perfect for those searching for some privacy, but at the same time downton Boquete is just a 4 minute drive. There is a nice view of the volcano from the hotel grounds, and I must add that the freshly brewed coffee each morning was phenomenal. The service was top notch. Really enjoyed my stay at Coffee Estate Inn...

Rooms are very comfortable and are well equipped. Views from the rooms and balcony are very beautiful.
Walkability Beautiful short trails but difficult to walk if you're not steady on your feet.
Food & drinks Included breakfast was ok but somewhat restricted. If one of us had a very limited breakfast, the other could not order eggs and porridge without paying extra. I didn't expect this from a facility of this caliber, quality and price point.

We stayed at Coffee Estates Inn for only a few days in early June 2023. We wished we had booked longer. The communication throughout the entire process was great. The inn keepers were very accommodating whether it was getting a taxi for us into town or coordinating breakfast in our room they were always happy to accommodate us. The room was neat and clean, probably ready for a little maintenance, but nothing that interfered with our comfort. We stayed in the deluxe king bungalow and the morning view from our patio deck was beautiful. Lots of birds singing and flying around, very enjoyable. Took a waterfall hike that was absolutely beautiful. Will definitely book again when we return to Boquete.

Last year (2022) we stayed at a family owned estate and loved it. So we thought let’s try another one instead of a corporate facility. We were not disappointed the owner’s attention to detail in the suites was impressive and the grounds were spectacular. Yes the Inn is a good distance from Boquete, but that’s what you kind of expect in a mountain resort. FYI security is on point. Two things I must note: Breakfast was 8am - 10 am. We had a flight at @ 9:30 am in David, so we missed the free breakfast and that shuttle bus you see in the pictures does not exist anymore which cost us $100 for a round trip from David Airport. Unfortunately we were not there long enough to find less expensive transport. In spite of this we did enjoy our stay at Coffee Estate and Boquete.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are glad you enjoyed your time with us and also wish you had more time to spend. Although it is true that we no longer have a private airport shuttle, when we did the charge was the same as any other transfer from David airport or around $40-$50 one way for the 1 hour trip.

We spent 4 nights at Coffee Estate Inn as a celebration getaway after having received our Covid vaccines. It was a great choice because it was relaxing and enjoyable without having to be around a lot of people. Our one bedroom unit was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking the volcano and much greenery. Each unit is separate, so our stay was quiet and peaceful. We spent hours just sitting on the balcony listening to the birds and watching them at our own private bird feeder below on the lawn. Breakfast was brought to our unit each morning and included eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee. We did not rent a car, so in the late afternoon we would walk (downhill) into Boquete for dinner. When we were finished we would have the restaurant call a cab for us or catch one on the street for the uphill journey home. This cost 4 or 5 dollars. Brian gave us good advice on where to eat, and we also enjoyed two stops at the local brewery. Boquete is a fun place to visit, and people were following Covid rules in every shop and restaurant. I can’t say enough about how warm, friendly, helpful and professional Brian and Dayanara were. They did everything they could to make our stay a success, which it most certainly was!

My partner and I stayed for 5 nights in a king Casita. The bed is super comfortable and warm. The balcony was beautiful and you could see breathtaking views of Volcan Barú. The location is perfection. We love that it's near town but far enough away to feel like you are really removed from everything. I only have three suggestions: 1- A place named Coffee Estate Inn should have amazing coffee, not cheap and environmentally unfriendly Duran. 2- The breakfast should not come in Styrofoam!! We were really shocked by this. Styrofoam is not sustainable and I am sure there are better containers. Also, having breakfast arrive in containers was odd, but maybe because of Covid? Unsure. 3- Use locally sourced products. For example, local good coffee, fresh orange juice and strawberries and fresh bread from Morton's would up your entire breakfast game.
I think attention to little details like this are important. The kitchenette did not have salt or pepper, lacked utensils and there was no where to put wet dishes. A small kitchen towel would be a good addition to the kitchenette. Most travelers wouldn't arrive with their own salt and pepper and kitchen towels. Other than that, we had an excellent time and we will definitely return in the future! The views are truly amazing.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to leave such an extensive review. We appreciate all of your comments and would like to address a couple of them. First of all, yes we have changed our original breakfast format due to COVID which originally was served in our restaurant space up by the office and now is almost entirely delivered to each bungalow upon request. We don’t like styrofoam either but the logistics of our inn make packing normal dishes and cutlery up and down our hill extremely difficult and other affordable packaging options aren’t available to us. As for using locally sourced products, we try. We try and try to find consistent, fresh and affordable products to use in our breakfast service. The key to us is consistency and most local producers don’t have it. What is here one week is gone the next and planning around others inconsistencies is a problem we would like to minimize. As for the coffee. Duran? We have our own coffee, grown harvested and roasted on our premises. I am sorry that you had the impression that you were drinking Duran and am more sorry that you had a bad cup of coffee but our coffee is as locally sourced as you can get, and normally I and others think it is quite good. When you return we will make sure that you have a much better coffee experience than your last and thank you again for your opinion. We will continue to try our very best to make Coffee Estate Inn a sustainable operation for travelers such as yourself to enjoy well into the future. Thank you

If you have your luggage with you, I would recommend taking a taxi from town (it is a $2-3 ride). We walked to/from town for excursions during our stay there. As others recommended, talk with Brian about Jazz Festival.
Hello,
There are ceiling fans in each room but you do not need air conditioning. The weather is cooler than Panama City or the coastal regions because you are in the mountains. When we were there we dressed in layers. The mornings and evenings were cool enough for a light sweater. There is a nice breeze that blows through the cottages as well. Use the windows to help keep the cottage cool. I hope this helps. :)
Hello, I am afraid that we will have to say no to the schnauzer. We love animals but unfortunately we have had a couple of problems in the past and are trying to avoid any in the future.
Apologies,
Brian
