This is a boutique hotel/b and b/inn style hotel.
It’s a little out of town so if you don’t have a car or in less you want to walk into town then this would not be suitable as taxis in the evening are virtually non existent.
On the road to Palo Alto a few miles out of town you see a white picket fence with a pedestrian gate. There are about 10 parking spaces on the road for visitors.
The buildings are 2 stories high. We had 2a (double and single) and the luxury double 6a both on ground floor. It was as a large room with a sofa. The rooms have dehumidifiers in every room. This is amazing (but you do need to empty them regularly to keep them working). This means that everything you put in the cupboard is dry really quickly including trainers (if you’ve been white water rafting) etc. We had so many wet clothes from storm Franklin that this was a life saver. They also do washing for a reasonable $7.50 a bag or individual items for a price.
The bathroom was nice and we always had hot water.
The kitchen had enough for us (but we didn’t really do much more than prepare a mango).
The gardens are lovely. Loads of areas to sit and relax or get in a hammock. The jacuzzi was lovely and huge.
The breakfast was nice and seems to change daily and they put food on the bird feeders next to the tables so you can watch the birds have their breakfast.
The bar is open 6-7pm and you get a free welcome drink.
Reception is where you have breakfast (covered patio) and is often unmanned but they are highly responsive by WhatsApp and email. Staff are friendly.
For the price this was a lovely simple place to stay.

In the evening there is a social hour at the bar. We booked a highly recommended coffee tour at the reception (El Gran Valle) At the reception we were also well provided with tips and tour suggestions.
However, we found it unpleasant that the hotel does not have umbrellas. In the rainy season, it is certainly more common for guests to arrive in heavy rain and not have the umbrella handy. Since the rooms are in bungalows scattered across the garden, we had to wait quite a while at reception until the rain subsided.

This is a delightfully created small resort beside the river and mercifully out of the main (crowded, busy) strip. While I was there, I happened to meet the owner/ designer. I complimented him on such a delightful garden with the rooms dispersed down winding trails filled with bird song and flowers. The rooms themselves, (each with a terrace and comfortable wicker chairs) are gorgeous with clean bathrooms but it is the environment, the welcoming staff and the warmth of everyone from the breakfast (included and excellent) server to the room maids, bar staff and reception that will fill your heart after so many cold hotel receptions where one gets the feeling one is just a credit card number. Perhaps the most memorable aspect is. The breakfast with the freshest fruit, eggs, toast etc, eaten on the terrace. As the birds descend on the fruit skins the staff leave out for them. The owner claims you can see most species (except the quetzal) right here at the feeders. I believe him!! I counted 8 species one morning. This resort truly embodies all I expect from a resort.
All staff were lovely and nothing seemed like it would be too much trouble. We were helped with printing documents for our onward travel.
Breakfasts were great including fruit, juice and something cooked. Because of COVID there is not a buffet service and the bar area is currently closed so there is nowhere on site to get a beverage that I’m aware of but that helps make the place especially
peaceful.
At breakfast the fruit trimmings are used to feed the birds and there is a spectacular range of colourful birds easy to see.
We walked into and out of town but the taxis are cheap. $4-5.
If you don’t want to go into town the nearest restaurant Is The Rock, 10-15 minute walk. Very modern, great food and service. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Well worth a visit.

There is no dearth of places to stay in and around boquete. The Boquete Garden Inn is a good choice, especially if birds and flowers make you happy. There are a plethora of both here.
Rooms are clean, comfortable and meet traveler needs. Most accommodations are in two story structures, one atop the other (fyi to those with mobility issues). Wifi is free and good. The property is large and descends gradually downward to the river. Those with mobility issues will want to request a room at front of property.
Included breakfast is decent enough. The lack of a restaurant on the property means venturing out at night for dinner, not ideal. The gardens are lively, and the birds wonderful. That’s the payoff.

My daughter and my mother's room had a big ant issue. When my mother laid down on the bed from a long travel day we had, she started to feel something biting her. There were ants all on her bed that were biting her. We notified the cleaning staff and they said its just that time of year when we have ants. Ants are always in Panama. But, ants are not supposed to be all over your room and in your bed. We told them that ants all over the rooms is not acceptable.
We immediately left this property and we fortunate to find a much better place on short notice because we are familiar with the Boquete area. But, we had to pay top dollar on such short notice. So our vacation to Boquete was not ruined. I had to write this review to warn others...NO onsite staff, POOR Cleaning, Ants all over inside the cabins..BEWARE!
