Thank you for the lovely review! We're glad you enjoyed breakfast with the birds - a highlight for many guests. :) And we love social hour too! :)
This hotel was gorgeous. The grounds were teeming with beautiful flowers and birds of all kinds. The rooms were very nice and breakfast was delicious. The attentiveness and helpfulness of the staff was unparalleled, and I would definitely recommend this hotel.
We really enjoyed our stay. This is a beautiful and great place to stay. Once you go through the front gate you are welcomed to the outstanding stay...from the gardens to the room. The staff and breakfast was outstanding. Thanks for a great stay.
We stayed at the gorgeous Boquete Garden Inn on October 5-7, 2018. Let me say this. The pictures posted online do absolutely no justice to the actual setting. It was stunningly gorgeous....beautiful flowers, fruit trees, unbelievable landscaping! The rooms were large, very well appointed......pure class!...More

The base of Volcan Baru is about a 20-25 minute drive from downtown Boquete. The climb, depending on your speed/condition, takes anywhere from 4-6 hours to ascend, and the same amount of to get down. So with climbing time and recovery time, it takes pretty much a full day out of your schedule. End of November can still be rainy up there, so a guide is definitely recommended. If you are specifically looking to climb Baru, that's one thing. But if you are just interested in hiking generally, there are other, better trails that are easier to access, less strenuous and won't take so much time out of your stay: The Lost Waterfalls, The Waterfall trail, The Quetzal Trail.

Well, that was a quirk about the Boquete Garden Inn. We had to pay them entirely in cash. I don't know why. It was rather inconvenient to do this. One thing to watch out for is that many U.S. banks have an ATM foreign withdrawal fee. Having to pay in cash was almost a deal breaker for me. But it all worked out really well for us.
Don't know about taxis We rented a car from Avis. They were the only car rental in the David Airport. I was not happy with the Avis rental. Car rental companies can be pretty slimy in the U.S. In Panama it is even worse.
