As Protea was full was forced to stay in another Benin Hotel. Sage used to be a reasonable Hotel to stay in but standards have dropped considerably. The room was dirty, bedsheets smelly, AC did not work properly. When asked to see Manager he was unavailable.

If this wasn't a client's booking, smh! Rooms appear clean but the sheets are never... even at check in. * Warn front desk about Do Not Disturb notifications * Whip out your calculator and compare with menus before each payment * Don't engage the staff in complaints. They are helpless. The 1st response you get will be identical to the...

This is the second time I have passed through this hotel and I have had to complain why bed spread are not changed after a guest departs. Room often have damp and mold smell , not fresh. The restaurant serves nice Egusi soup and pounded yam. Despite all it's managerial limitations, it could still be one of the best hotel...

Quite a good hotel. Tastefully furnished and courteous Staff. However I felt their menu and food bill was kind of a joke. They probably overpriced their food menu cos the hotel is in a bit of a remote location and guests will be discouraged from going out. Really ridiculous, especially as a meal can probably be close to a third...

Conveniently located and close to the airport. Their stunning collection of modern African art in the communal areas impressed me. Room and bathroom were just ok , but acceptable - more travellodge than anything better if you get my drift. but hey they were clean and the air con worked well. I had a beautiful view of the gorgeous Image...

The Sage is probably Benin City's best hotel, but it's still pretty unpleasant. The decor in the common areas is lovely, but in the rooms, one can smell mold/mildew and the beds are not very comfortable. My bathroom was never properly cleaned; I found hairs and spots of mold almost every day. You could also smell smoke through the bathroom...

Sage is a secure place to stay in Benin and the rooms are quite spacious and clean too. The decor is quite modern and well maintained. I have not given a 5 rating because the food is not what I expect from a hotel of this caliber - no buffets and choices are limited.

This was my second trip to Benin City, the first to Sage Hotel. First, you need to discount that in Nigeria, reasonable hotels come at a high price. Sage is no exception. But it offers a good place to recover after a busy working day. Staff is friendly, rooms are simple and clean. TV works and shows major channels. Internet...

After stayed in a number of hotel and visited most of the hotels in Benin City is this one of the three hotels that live up to a curtain standard. I have slept in Sage Hotel for almost three months in an executive room with view at the pool and that is a nice room. The restaurant has a good...

I spend a lot of time working in Africa and it's still beats me why hotel accomodation is so overrated. With the good hotel, I have no problem paying but The Sage Hotel is one of those that one can only call a "ripoff". The service is poor, from the lady at reception, which almost seems to be asleep to...
