We have had a negative, or rather, no experience at all with Egumbo: e-mailed request to reserve a room for our client, high-ranking Namibian politician. It was on 07 October 2014, a month ago, we are still expecting their reaction. There have been numerous reminder messages resent, all we have in response is a automatic reading confirmations. Ignoring requests is... More

Egumbo Lodge is, although you may not see it from the outside, decorated beautifully. It has dark woods and tasteful accessories. It gives a warm and colonial feeling. We were in a room in the front of the house (first floor) and although we were on the road, it really didn't bother us. The bed linnens were clean and crisp,... More

What a great Lodge. After all the dust of Sossusvlei some civilization. It is a beautiful house at the seafront. We had the room in front of the lodge on the second floor. Enormous room with an open bathroom. From the tub you had a view on thousands of Flamingo's in the bay. They sit just in front of the... More

The Egumbo Lodge is for sure not the best Lodge we stayed during our 2 weeks trip through Namibia, but you have to compare it with what’s nearby. We didn’t see any lodge that looked as good as this one in the city, especially when you consider the price. We went kayaking in the bay and when the bus picked... More

We found this lodge via StayToday meaning we got a very good price. We had a look at the web-page and had high expectations. Luxury lodge at a bargain price. Wow! Unfortunately this is a beautiful lodge making the same mistakes (and more) as most Namibian lodges. They spend a fortune on the building, the rooms and the interior of... More

We stayed there for 2 nights in the beginning of April and had a very nice experience. The room was big and nicely decorated. The atmosphere was right and the service was excellent. I had asked the kitchen if they could prepare a birthday cake for my wife the second evening as we were going to eat at the lodge.... More

... for the noise. Well located on the Esplanade, close to THE best restaurant in Walvis Bay (Lyon des Sables), Egombo is a lovely little B&B jewel in a rather sad looking city. Pink flamingoes on the bay, just across the street and a most friendly and helpful staff. The only problem: trucks passing non stop between 0700 and 1700,... More

Egumbo Lodge is beautiful with its thatched roof, heavy wooden beams, polished dark wood furniture, personable staff, chef, swimming pool, free wi-fi, business center (loft), sunset view over the calm waters of the lagoon with its pink pelicans and flamingoes. After work with a cold Windhoek beer and sun streaming in through the windows couldn't be more relaxing. Dinner prepared... More

We got married, and stayed there for a few days. Everything was awesome, the food, the service, everything! This place is the best lodge in the coast. Thanks Xana for those lovely days, we will come back. Patrizio Pausini

While on business in Walvis Bay, I stayed at Egumbo for six weeks (Jun-Aug). First off, the place reeks of authencity- attention to detail with regard to furnishings and design is amazing. To walk into the main living/dining area is truly a trip back in time- exactly what you'd expect to find in a turn-of-the-century African lodge. The rooms are... More
