Sophia Dale is a campsite +-10 minutes outside Swakopmund. The camp is run by a German couple which is also reflected by most of the guests. A bar and restaurant were available but we made use of the fireplace to cook and consumed our own drinks. The showers and toilets were ok.

We stayed in one of the cottages for 4 nights with our 3 boys, ages 12, 9 and 9. The cottage was bright, clean and large, with two bedrooms and bathrooms. We really enjoyed the little Saturday Farmer's Market and all the wonderful dogs around the property. We ate dinner one night at the restaurant. The Kingclip fillet was fantastic...

Its not about the accommodation which was basic clean and an excellent price it is all about the owners Manfred and Michaela - friendly helpful accommodating and Manfred has to be the best butcher ever.. Do not leave without buying all the delicious vacuum packed products, especially his sausages and wonderful ready made soup - what a treat when we...

I usually stayed here when I visited the coast. They are animal friendly - which is a bonus. The place is always nice and clean and the staff very friendly. I have camped here with my tent, but occasionally also rented a room for me and my animal.

For our quick stop in Swokapmomd, SophiaDale was perfect! It's about 10 minutes outside of town, which is not a deal breaker at all. In fact, we preferred the peace and quiet. Large, well kept campsite with electricity along with immaculate ablutions and hot showers! And bonus! Wifi worked great which is a rare find. Great stay, lovely host, Sophia...

We camped here for four nights and the facilities were the best we experienced in Namibia. They included spotlessly clean ablution blocks with plenty of solar-heated hot water and large sinks, WiFi, a small beer garden and a restaurant. Each campsite was slightly different, many had shade and water and most had one or two "special touches". All sites had...

We stayed 3 nights at Sophia Dale. It is spotlessly clean and well organised. Shared ablutions. We had power at the site, which worked fine. Wifi is a pain, as you can only get it at the site office and have to sit outside in the dark. No wifi at the restaurant, which is strange. Location is great, away from...

We camped at Sophia Dale for 3 nights - lovely large pitch, table and electricity (and wifi!). Showers and toilets excellent and the whole place really clean safe and quiet. We enjoyed a German breakfast on our last morning! While in Swakopmund we enjoyed the museum and we had a great day out with Turnstone Tours - highly recommended. The...

We've just come back after camping through Namibia for 10 days. Our 2 nights in Sophia Dale were great... but the best was the included breakfast! We opted to give ourselves a well deserved break from cooking over the fire and have dinner at the Sophia Dale restaurant... the food was excellent!! Thank you to the hosts for their friendly...

We stayed on the campsite for 4 nights and we enjoyed every minute on the place. The people and the plot own dog are very friendly and helpfully. The campsites and abulotions were clean all the time. Manfred cooked us a fabulous meal two times and for the other days we got the best meat which we had in Namibia...
