Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best and affordable place to stay in Swakopmund. 3minutes walk to the beach and a walking distance to most of the tourist attractions and shops. All rooms are clean , the shared kitchen as well. I love everything about this place. Employees are very friendly. Keep it up Desert Sky, you will always be my home away from home

Great spot! We camped here and loved it -- the staff is very kind, the kitchen is well-stocked, and the facilities are all nice and clean (we especially appreciated the hot showers on a cold misty day!). On-site laundry is also great -- we paid a small fee for a load, which was then washed, dried, folded, and delivered to our campground. Also, very conveniently located in the middle of Swakop. Would definitely recommend!

What a lovely camping site in Swakopmund close to the sea and the centre of the city! The camping slots are very well sheltered, the facility offers a comfy kitchen with everything you might need and it is located so that you can roam around the city by foot easily. And last and most importantly, it is managed by the most lovely hosts who will make sure that you enjoy your stay! Thank you very much again :)

Loved the Desert Sky backpackers. All staff without exception were very helpful, from the welcome on the first day and throughout my staff. I stayed in a single room with shared bathroom. All areas including room and bathroom were very clean. The bedroom itself was beautiful and equipped like the bedroom of a 2 or 3 star hotel. There is a nice little garden where it's great to relax, read a book or just soak up the sun. The kitchen is easy to use and cook in. And most things to do in Swakopmund are a short walk away.

The is a lovely, relaxed hostel with clean rooms and charming garden. Head member of staff Jati is a credit to Desert Sky and her one year old son Gideon is delightful. I accidentally left some clothing behind and I’ve been promised it’ll be posted on to me. Imagine how pleased I am! Highly recommend.

Stayed here before and after a trip into the desert. Staff were extremely helpful and the rooms are kept scrupulously clean. I stayed in a single room (double bed) which had its own sink and a shared bathroom with one other single room. All of the staff were very helpful, including helping me with some printing and scanning I needed to do while there.

Very well situated , we walked from here to the aquarium , jetty and town. Room was fair , the garden areas and sitting areas well laid out with space for everyone. Probably has the greenest lawn in the whole of Namibia. All in all , we had a very pleasant stay and will return in future.
