In Essaouira I always stay in the Riad Al Madina. Each room is unique including the room where Jimmy Hendrick's used to stay. The atmosphere and staff are excellent, as is the dinning room. We always have our evening meal in their fine dinning room. I look forward to returning later this year.

Spent two nights in Room #26 on the Exodus Highlights of Morocco trip September 2015. There was lots of hot water, a refreshing change from many places we'd stayed! Rooms are small but comfortable. Some rooms have windows to the outside, others have windows to the public courtyard. If your room opens to the courtyard you'll have little privacy unless... More

The hotel is in a very convenient location and the room very comfortable. We loved breakfast here and would especially like to mention the friendliness of the staff. Thank you and we hope to be back soon!

We spent 5 nights at this delightful riad and had a fantastic stay. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the staff were friendly and helpful. We tried the hammam - our first ever and thoroughly enjoyed the experience - we felt so clean afterwards! The riad has a great situation - on the edge of the souk and a short... More

There are hotels. And there are riads. Riads don't just come with an open courtyard and a tranquil atmosphere - they really are a blessing for the soul! Riad al Madina in Essaouira truly is one of these very special places! Essaouira itself lowers your shoulders and puts your pulse right down - so this riad fits in SO well..... More

Location: ***** Hospitality: - Rooms: Need renovation Although we had a paid and confirmed (requested) voucher from Groupon, the Riad did not have a valid reservation when we arrived. We managed to get a room anyway, but it was unclear til the end of our stay, whether we would have to pay a second time. It seemed to me that... More

We only stayed here for one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. Definately coming back! The hotel has its own local charm, lots of fascinating history, great food and helpful staff. We had breakfast in the "court yard" and the food and the atmosphere was wonderful. You have to try their Hammam, it was divine! Don't expect too... More

Went to stay the Riad Al Madina after reading through several reviews and wanted a hotel in a good location and a good price as me and two other friends wanted our own room. We stayed for 4 nights which included breakfast. We decided to visit Essaouria instead of Marrakech as we wanted to also relax on the beach. Before... More

It is a very nice building, but for my taste too much traffic in front of the room doors and windows. All are on the internal courtyard, with small tables and chairs out of each door. It looks beautiful, but only a curtain separates you from the other guests and it can be noisy during day time and in the... More

Hotel looks nice but don't go there to try hammam. For 70 dh you can splash water to yourself until your bored doing that. You don't get soap or anything like that. Would go elsewhere to try hammam, had expected more of the place.
