I brought my students here for teambuilding and I'm very pleased with the facilities and outdoor activities available in this resort. Located at the cove of Damai beach, it has the sand and the sea with its backdrop of Mt Santubong. We took the hiking trail, which was a 6km that would take roughly 1.5 hours if you are fast....

Liked it a lot. We actually wanted to rent a tree house but when trying to book we discovered that those were not rented out to families although they appeared large enough. They regular cabins were OK. At down monkeys and other wild animals passed over the roof. The restaurant was not OK. You had to come early for a...

Permai is literally at the end of the road on the Damai Peninsula, with Santubong Mountain on one side, the South China Sea on the other, and the forest all around - and above. We stayed in a family cabin, which was very basic (beds, fans, chairs, bathroom, small fridge and that's it - no aircon) and could benefit from...

If you don't want to stay in a private air-conditioned treehouse, in a rainforest, with the sea lapping over rocks under your balcony, there are cheaper cabins that let you enjoy the jungle pool (fed from the rainforest - utter bliss to be in cold water) and the amazing walk through the rainforest. Be warned, the walk is very hard...

Scratched off the bucket list! The Tree House rooms are quite high up, making you feel like you're sleeping at the ceiling of the jungle. The rooms conveniently come with several electric outlets, and they're the newer type, so you don't have to worry about plug shapes or using converters. The Tree House units are far apart enough that you...

Be prepared. This isn't a luxury hotel and did take a bit of getting used to going from big beach 5 stars to Permai. However this resort does not profess to be something it's not so if your expecting luxury and loads to do, this is not the place for you. It takes about 45 minutes from Kuching but it's...

Two weeks before arrival I received an email to say our treehouse had been damaged during a storm so for the first two nights of our 7 night honeymoon we would get a cabin, two free dinners and free airport transfers. Well, when we saw the (dormitory style with single beds) we were not best pleased and insisted that we...

We really enjoyed our stay here and the treehouse offered a unique opportunity for a rainforest stay. They were well equipped and clean. On the night it rained really heavily the roof leaked slightly but nothing of major concern. The thunderstorm just added to the experience. We did the circular trek with our 6yr old and really enjoyed it. The...

We spent one night in Treehouse 8 and absolutely loved it! It was amazing waking up to the sounds of the sea and the rainforest. We wish we had booked a longer stay! The room was quite basic but still good value for money, everything was clean and there was a hot shower and working ceiling fan and AC. The...

Quite possibly the most unique place we have stayed during our travels in SE Asia. We stayed in a treehouse with our 3 children (7, 3 and 6 months). It was amazing. We were up in the trees overlooking the ocean. It was incredibly peaceful. There was air conditioning and a bathroom up in the tree house. There was a...
