This is the place to stay if you want to stay in the countryside, be close to nature, want personalised attention and want to explore Sarawak. Nothing is too much trouble for Adrian: he even went back to the airport for us to collect our bags when they did not arrive on the same flight as us in error. All...

The Kebun is hand down the best place you can stay in Sarawak. Why would you want to stay at a boring hotel in Kuching? At the Kebun we were looked after like royalty by Adrian and Jeneil, constantly delivered delicious food in abundance and loved navigating ourselves around the area in the car provided. With four fun-loving kids in...

We just spent an excellent 8 nights at The Kebun at Adrian's bungalow. If you are looking for 5* luxury or a boutique hotel this is probably not for you. It is rural and rustic place, with lots of dogs and chickens (and yes, some mosquitoes), but it is a place of real character, and a perfect base for visiting...

Thank's a lot for 6 wonderful days. Jeneij, you were an outstanding host. Your emphatic behavior towards our children and your extensive knowledge about the area meant everything to us. Wonderful setting, wonderful food, genius koncept with the car, the gps and the telephone. We look forward to come bace. Take good care of all the puppies until then :-)

Wanted to visit The Kebun for the longest time as we heard great reviews from a friend. Finally made it this year for my birthday! We stayed at The Guest House, a nice little, self-contained house just right by the chill lounge. We were picked up at the airport and when we reached The Kebun, we were welcomed by lovely...

My partner and I stayed at the longhouse for 3 nights and thought it was a very cool experience, but were very glad we did not stay any longer. Perhaps because we stayed close to the low season, we felt we were a little neglected by the staff at times. We never met the owners, Adrian and Olivia, and when...

We recently stayed in Olivia's Bungalow with our three children aged 10, 7 and 4 and had an amazing time. The food is fantastic (oh the excitement of undoing the tiffin tin every evening to find out what we had for dinner), everyone is so friendly and helpful and the surroundings are beautiful. The children were made to feel so...

We went there with the family, including one 10 year old girl. The experience was fantastic. We stayed at the Adrian´s bungalow. Very comfortable for the five of us. It includes a car, so we were able to drive around. The staff was very nice and helpful. We had dinner there, served at our bungalow. Nice and more than enough....

Three years after our first trip to Borneo (Sarawak) we returned: we wanted to 're-do' Sarawak, and also visit Sabah. Because we so much enjoyed staying at the Kebun's longhouse last time, we wanted to come back to this special place. We had kept in touch via facebook, and therefore knew that Adrian had made quite a few changes. He...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Kebun was started 12 years ago as our plan for a retirement home in Sarawak, East Malaysia. Adrian’s Bungalow was put up after being disassembled from the movie set of The Sleeping Dictionery. Olivia’s was only put up only two years later when it was taken out of storage which was also disassembled from the same movie set. The farmstay side of the business only started in April 2010 after much encouragement from friends. The Kebun is not just accommodation, it is an experience. If you would like to get a taste for the basics of a simple lifestyle in a beautiful tropical setting, which is of fresh gardens of organic herbs & vegetables, picking your own tropical fruits, dining on fresh farm raised livestock, fishing for your own freshwater fish & simple accommodation with little impact to the environment, or even to help out with feeding all of the animals at the end of the day’s activities and again in the morning, then your are up for a unique Sarawakian adventure at The Kebun. ... more   less
