I decided to take a weekend break and escape the stress from the city with my girlfriend, we check into nexus for 1 night stay. Beautiful beach promenade, romantic stroll in the late evening, where we spent our light dinner in the sunset bar. Friendly Borneo Hospitality staff. Surprisingly, i didn't expect there is so many bad review in here....

If you like dirty rooms, pools and bathroom with mould, unreliable, rude and arrogrant staff, esp if you paid good money to stay there, THEN this is the place for you....... Seriously, there are much better places to stay in Sabah, these guys should not even be operating. They lack every thing from hospitatlity, cleanliness, management, understanding simple ENGLISH... Do not be put off by the bad reviews, I have never felt the need to do a hotel review before, however having just returned from a stay at the Nexus in Late September with my partner, I felt I must write one. After reading the reviews before we left, I was having serious doubts and second thoughts that I...

What a shame! 19 of us have travelled from around Australia and Asia to come together for our mother's 70th birthday celebration. From check in onwards the comedy of errors and shocking service has continued (despite getting the Management involved). Wrong villa allocation, resulting in one family having to move TWICE (without assistance), babysitters not turning up, room service taking...

We stayed at the Nexus for 9 nights in mid September. Having been watching reviews on Trip Adviser we were concerned that the experience would be awful (and our first visit to Borneo too) but it was wonderful and we were pleased to have chosen the hotel. We stayed in the cheapest rooms -Borneo garden deluxe. The room was spacious,...

We stayed at the Nexus Resort in Sept 2010 (original booking was at the Shangri-La Tanjung Aru, however we changed our booking due to the renovations at the Shangri-La). We were quite apprehensive given all of the negative reviews on this site, however we found the resort to be great - relaxing, staff very friendly and helpful, beautiful setting, great...

I stayed in this hotel with my friends for 2 days and 2 nights recently and frankly, this is the worst hotel that we'd stayed in. Considering the price that these guys charged, this hotel is a rip off and a scam. There are 2 main parts to this hotel. One is the main hotel and the other is the...

This is a hotel that has gone bad at the core. We stayed in the Pool Villa. During the first night, we were presented with spoilt BBQ food reeked of decay, which was subsequently disputed by hotel staff, claiming that the chef ate the entire dinner. In the pool villa room, fire alarm went off, toilet did not flush well,...

Exceptionally courteous and helpful staff. Very well presented grounds. Fabulous beach - perfect for morning or evening running or just walking - with rainforest backdrop. There were a lot of jelly fish in the sea once you moved out from paddling depth. Noting other reports perhaps we may have just been lucky that we did not encounter any biting insect...

I am not one to often complain. We're here on our honeymoon. We stayed here for 2 nights before a jungle trip over to Sandakan area and back, and had no complaints. In fact, I thought it was the best resort I'd ever stayed in. We were travelling with 2 othersfor part of our trip - one of which was...
