The Pacific Sutera was the taller and bleaker of the two hotels and relatively well-maintained with excellent views of the South China Sea and the Sutera Harbour, while the Magellan Sutera was more homely and designed like a sprawling low-rise residential apartment block. The resort is huge and about 3-4 km away from downtown Kota Kinabalu. However, there is a...

This is a very good place to stay in KK. The ground are fantastic. The sunsets over the islands are fantastic. There were only two minuses that kept this from being an excellent review. 1) The hotel fells somewhat isolated from the city. There are shuttle buses, but they aren't very practical as you have to book in advance and,...

My wife had a five day conference here so I tagged along for my first time in Malaysia. Room - Room was spacious, clean, good air-conditioning, separate bath and shower with great water pressure. Toilet was jury rigged so did not flush well. Food. Exceptional breakfast buffet. Pool side food was good. Amenities. Wifi worked well. Gym equipment was in...

I had an excellent stay at Sutera Harbour Resort. I stayed on the 10th floor of the Pacific Sutera facing the harbour. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the food served at Cafe Boleh.

This Resort hotel is fabulous as a good location and accessibility to uptown. If there had more staff who is fluent in English, I would mark Five Stars. If you are planning to stay this hotel, I highly recommend you long term staying as long as you can afford. You should play golf and swimming.

A very beautiful resort, nestled near by Tanjung Aru. The sunset view here is enchanting. The resort is comprised of three properties: Magellan Sutera, Pacific Sutera and the Marina Club. We stayed at the Magellan Sutera. The hotel has everything you need, from swimming pool to fencing club, Italian restaurant to local Malay restaurant. Location is really near the airport...

We stayed 5 nights at Sutera Harbour Resort (The Magellan Sutera) for a conference being held there. The initial impression of the resort when you arrived in the hotel lobby is it's nice and relaxing. Checking in was a bit frustrating as we were told mixed things and had to redo several steps before going to our room. When we...

The Pacific Sutera is an older hotel. Rooms are a bit dated but still comfortable. The elevators (only 3 available) are slow and I was told they are in the process of being upgraded. The staff were helpful and friendly. There were quite a variety of choices for breakfast and lunch in the cafe. Though the hotel is not in...

I was recently there for an educators conference and was so glad I stayed at the Magellan. The resort was beautiful with a great pool, comfortable rooms and VERY friendly staff. Some of my colleagues stayed at the Pacific Sutera, but I'm glad I stayed at the Magellan, as it was more up to date and modern. The rooms and...

I've visited this property 5x in the last 6 yrs. The location is great. Close to the airport, right on the water and just a short taxi ride to town. The people and service are very hospitable but the resort has gone downhill over the years. I have stated at both the Pacific and Magellan. The Magellan is the nicer...
