Stayed in a double room. Room is small and decor is a bit simple and outdated, but you get what you pay for. Bathroom was clean and towels were provided. Aircon was a nice to have! Room can be quite noisy. Breakfast was quite basic (toast + jam) Location is great, closed to the centre

We stayed in a double bed room. The room was small but functional, air-con worked well, and the bathroom was roughly clean. The self-helped breakfast was jam on toast - we preferred heading out for a more traditional meal at one of the many local street restaurants. The location of the place is great, which was a definite plus.

This accommodation is located very conveniently in Kota Kinabalu. Close to restaurants, food and shops it is also in Jalan (street) Gaya which means you are right in front of the sunday street markets. We had a private double room so we can't comment on the dorm. The room was simple but fine the towels and the rest was clean...

Situated at Gaya street gives it a lot of advantages over other guesthouses. You can reach there by taking the airport shuttle bus MYR5/way alight at Horizon hotel. Walkable distance to malls, local markets, jetty and bus terminal. they have hot/cold water dispenser and self-service toast/jam breakfast. Tiny but clean shower room with no soap/shampoo. Common area is small if...

Initially the idea of this hostel isn't so bad. But day by day this place depressed us more and more. Sadly we got stuck in KK because we couldn't change our flights. The location is perfect but that's about it. Breakfast is do it yourself jam and bread. I'd probably prefer an option to opt out and pay less for...

Stayed around 4/5 nights at Gaya Lodge and it served its purpose but that was about it. A pretty depressing common area wasn't ideal but the rooms are okay and the location is good. One massive drawback was the size of the blankets, unless you're either a 6 year old brownie on a trip to borneo or a pet dog...

They messed up (lost?) our booking.com reservation, so we received private 4-bed room. Spacy, clean, working. Perfect location-walking distance to malls, markets, the coast. Helpful staff. Self-service breakfast. Common room crowded and busy.

My friends and I stayed at the rooms on the second floor. Everything was clean and working. The location is perfect. Walking distance to numerous establishments and easy to find taxis. The best pork soup in town is found right beside it. Also, for those who love to shop at a bargain, they have Sunday Markets right in front of...

This hostel is more like a family living on the first floor with 3 dormrooms so they can make some money. Grandmom is living here and she watches bad asian series the whole day. Blankets are one square meter so everyone is freezing in the ac rooms at night. Computer use is not free, breakfast is toast and jam, lockers...

The one thing about this hotel is its location, in the middle of town within walking distance of all shopping malls (and there are far too much in KK), and near several restaurants. But that's it. The place is very, very basic and the private rooms are for 80RM real basic. Bed linnen with spots, really cheap and thin towel....
