Moontree47 at 47 Muntri Street is easy to miss. The front is a shop that sells postcards and stamps (post box provided). It's a quaint place to stay, but not suitable for people who have kids, don't like cats (there are four) or steep stairs as the double rooms are duplex. If you're not used to wetrooms and windows that...

My friend and I stayed at MoonTree 47 during a short weekend trip to Penang. Kent was friendly and welcoming, and did his best to answer all our questions and give us great advice to make the most out of our time in Penang (including arranging an airport pickup for our arrival)! The B&B itself was also wonderfully charming, and...

The room is cute, with 2 floors first one is the bedroom, 2nd one is open bathroom with 2 chair and a table looking out to the outdoor corridor. The stair to the 2nd floor is a bit narrow and steep, hence not recommended this room for overweight guests. The guesthouse owner Kent is beyond amazing. He spent a lot...

At my first walk to town, I passed this little place without knowing it was just there and I was on google maps though. Anyway, it is really a small hidden gem. Loved the place. The host Kent was helpful and friendly. They closed at 5pm, gave me a key for the main door access. There's also a small cafeteria,...

Stunning stay in Kent's little piece of Georgetown paradise. Service, facilities are all fantastic. A great affordable way to experience Georgetown without having to do the backpacker hostel stay. Kent gave great advice for things to do in the area as well.

When my friend and I arrived at Moontree 47, we were instantly blown away by it's relaxed atmosphere (especially the cats). The owner, Kent, is probably the friendliest man i met in Malaysia, and i still miss him! The rooms were filled with personality and style, as well as having all the basic amenities needed. The location is also excellent,...

In the old town, this charming place offers stylish rooms and a nice backyard - perfect for chillling. This is a ideal spot to go and discover George Town. Plus, the kindness and the tips of the host make this hostel even more special.

I have just returned home after a week's stay at Moontree 47. My friends and I came to Penang for a wedding, and although my friends stayed at a big hotel around the corner, I wanted something less western. And it's exactly what I was looking for. Kent, the owner, from the 1st booking email was helpful and friendly. He...

“We had the room on ground right in the end of the building, you will have to pass through the lobby, cafe and courtyard to get to the room. The room has attached bathroom which you dont have to share with other guests. The room opens up to the courtyard which is really amazing to me.”
