The Chulia Heritage is well located, with a clean and pleasant feeling. Spacious rooms, though the bathrooms are rather cramped, good wi Fi, pleasant staff and seems to be great value for money. Its location, set back from one of the main streets in old Georgetown makes it perfect to explore all the old city on foot.

This is a very pleasant, centrally placed hotel on Chulia Street, near the Penang Road end. It's very close to Cintra Street, which leads to the Campbell/Kimberley Roads morning Chinese market. That's another story ... The room was on the ground floor, down a short corridor on the right. It was big enough (just about) but 'not enough room to...

We booked the family suite and had the downstairs room. We've had a very positive experience staying here for 2 nights. The front desk receptionist was very helpful. We appreciated the complimentary bottled water. The room was very well air-conditioned and the bathroom comes with adequate hot water shower. Though the entire bathroom gets wet each time we have a...

My wife and I were very happy to have gone here. The amenities are low - no pool or other things like that. But it is very comfortable. The one downside is that we had to share bathrooms and showers, but it's really not that big of a deal. ...except for one night when half of China was there. They...

I was home for Ching Ming recently and stopover in Penang. I chose to stay in this hotel after reading the many reviews. I decided to take a room with attached bathroom. The first stay on the 28th March I was allocated a room next to the entrance near to the car park. My only concern : my curtain if...

The Chulia Heritage Hotel is an excellent choice on the Chulia street backpacker circuit, in many ways a boutique hotel but offering backpacker hotel prices. It's long driveway, elegant decor cream-and-gold colour scheme, professional management and immaculately clean status, perfectly functioning and tastefully appointed facilities provide incredible value and comfort in a central location in George Town. The budget rooms...

This hotel completely met our expectations, it is right in the middle of Georgetown, it has character and strategic location not too far from Komtar, to go around town. Actually there are bus stops nearby also, but we prefer to walk to Komtar and get the buses from there. Friendly and helpful staff, we received a nice spacious room on...

8th March We booked Standard Queen with en-suite bathroom but upon arrival (5pm), we were told that due to a fire that happened the day before, the room is no longer available. Why wasn't we informed in advance? We were given two choices, stay in their Basic Queen with common bathroom or move to another nearby hotel. Tired & hungry,...

The hotel is basically in the middle of town. It is walking distance to the famous Nasi Kandar line clear and other eateries. The room is very clean with comfy beds. The receptionist are super friendly and I had indeed a pleasant stay. The room was affordable and the ambiance was great. Wold definitely come back. :)
