I was a solo traveler walking in off the street. Near the end of a 2 month trip, I wanted to go a bit upmarket for a change in a place with a bit of character and that's exactly what I got. OK....good location on Lebuh Chulia but set back so no noise problems. Staff friendly/helpful. Large room and bed,...

It is on a good location, there are many coffes restaurants to choose around. Hotel has antique chinesse decorations as well as a koi pond which is kinda cool. Rooms are okey for a guesthouse. Guests are mainly europeans who are doing their visaruns from thailand.

A woman called me later on during the day to confirm my booking and set a time for my pick-up (big comfortable van) the following week. This was going to be my longest road trip to date. After travelling from...

A quick visit to Penang for a school reunion so I needed to be in central Georgetown within walking distance from everything; mainly glorious Penang food, transport - main taxi stand 5 min walking distance, riskshaws for local sightseeing and local bus services & not to mention shops. Nearby Chowrasta market opens 6.30am and has all the knick-knacks including Penang's...

Last April was my 2nd time to stay in banana hotel and it was great. Talking about the rooms; spacy, the beds are awesome, airconditioned works good. The ambiance is not that great because it looks like an old creepy mansion where many people died on that place. Talking about the food it is good. Plenty of food in the...
