I was a caregiver for a group of 40 pax of strokees and caregivers checking in on03/03/16 for 2 nights. Upon arrival at the hotel by chartered bus, I requested for assistance from the concierge with the luggage as there are many strokees on board but he said it's not his duty. Bad first impression. This hotel is old but is being refurbished. Good air con and bed. Helpful desk staff. Noise from the busy road below certainly kept us wake on the 7th floor, as single glazed windows. Good central location, short walk to Komtar and historic centre is round the corner too. Wifi intermittent as they warned us, so no surprises there. View...

Stayed here 3 times. Stayed in double room and family rooms before. Double room is small but family room pretty big, still have space for little children to run around. Rooms appear damp and carpets worn-out. No restaurant or breakfast provided. Many Indian and Chinese food outlets around the area. Good for a few nights'sleep only.

Location is excellent. Room (tenth floor) was spacious and provided a good view of Penang, Chulia Street, KOMTAR. House keeping is done daily. However, apart from Towel and soap, they do not provide water, tea/coffee. Wifi was non-existant most of the time.

Where to start. It is old and shabby...thats its good points. On arrival and other times, you should not annoy staff by going to their counter. Room in very sad condition. TV attached (pemanently) with cheap steel band. Receeption advises no remote supplied as they get stolen !!!!!! Rooms are it appears must be used by "ladies of the night"...

We’ve stayed at the Orient for 3 times over the years, this most recent in April, 2014 for 2 weeks. That says something in itself – I’ve always thought that this hotel offered a great value. The rooms are spacious enough to move around in and places to put your luggage. Each room has a private bathroom, and though it’s...
