The main building houses accommodation with varied sized rooms. We had booked a family room for 8 with four bedrooms. The rooms were well maintained but the seven storeyed building had only two lifts that could take about eight people maximum. On the day we went only one lift was operating and it could not cope for the season rush.Breakfast was good with continental and local items just as any star hotel. The staff were very friendly and hospitable.
There were a few halls used for multipurpose but we attended a wedding reception in the Kencanapuri Hall that could hold about 800pax.As facilities were away from the main hotel, buggy services were available.
The lush greenery gives a jungle within city limits experience. This is an ideal place for family where kids enjoy facilities no like biking which they can't do in the hustle and bustle of the cities.
In general it's a good place to relax, go physical and enjoy nature.Groups could come here for team building activities and we observed a Japanese primary School group doing just that.
Rooms were quite spacious for a Junior Deluxe Bedroom, toilet clean but clogged sink, dusty drapes and some ants at minibar/pantry.
Staff not too accommodating. I wanted to make an outside local call to book a restaurant, room phone did not allow outside call so I had to ask help from reception. They said they had to bill me for a local call. What kind of hotel doesn’t have this service? They eventually allowed me to use their phone but with blank face.
Poor administration as some guest who just got out of the swimming pool and dripping wet also used the same lift for newly arrived guests. The lift and lift landing area were so wet.
Wifi was restricted after midnight. Had to call again reception to give you a new login and password.
Breakfast selection was so limited. Most are local dishes which did not look appetizing at all.
1) swimming pool needs to do maintenance as can be seen some missing tiles and algae.
2) buffet dinner needs to have more choices of food.
3) gave a listing and timing on the activities on every guest that checks in. For example like movie timing.
Was also disappointed that the guard did not allow the grab shopping that we ordered to enter and leave our purchases at the lobby. Had to forgo our purchase with our delivery guy.
Furnishing was well maintained but rather outdated.
While its a looong walk out, we were rather relieved that there were restaurants within the resort compound and the Qing Palace restaurant that we visited had rather good ala carte buffet options.
"If you are looking for a hideout in the city, this is not the place anymore. Skudai & JB are turning into another KL. "Read full review
