This hotel probably offered the best value/price ratio of anywhere we have stayed, delivering genuine quality at an incredibly reasonable price.
The room was very large, with great views out across JB, as well as stylish decor. The bathroom was a good size, complete with blind to screen the almost-inevitable glass wall to the sleeping area. A water purifier was also provided, a great idea in such a humid part of the world.
The only letdowns were the blue LED lights in the bedside light fittings. These were unnecessarily bright, lighting up an otherwise dark room at night.
Breakfast was literally fit for a king, on par with the SG$52 offering I once had at the (considerably more expensive) Westin in Singapore. Every type of sweet and savoury dish was available, as well as copious staff at preparation stations. I can't recall the last time I had bread & butter pudding and custard or spaghetti bolognese for breakfast, but here they were! Across a couple of mornings, I reckon we only scraped the surface of the range, and everything we had was excellent.
We also had dinner in the restaurant on one evening (when we were totally shopped out after a long day in the malls), which was surprisingly good value and delicious.
The only challenge with the hotel is that it's a little way from the downtown core, with little to do or see in the immediate vicinity. However, it was only a few ringgits on the bus into JB Sentral, which took about 5-10 minutes (depending on traffic).
We'd happily stay here again.

Quarantined here for 14 days. There were hundreds of requests coming from different rooms each day but the staffs were prompt, friendly and very helpful. Really a pleasant stay even if unable to leave the room for 2 weeks. Rooms were spacious and clean.
I am not a smoker. So their strict no smoking rules was an added advantage; so no smoke smell :)
Chef kept things interesting by provided a different menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday. Nothing short of a sumptuous meal.
Would definitely consider staying here for a real vacation.

Our 3 nights stay was awesome! I was pleasantly surprised with the excellent hospitality from check in right up to check out. Breakfast was well served. Lada & Cloves serves varieties of cuisines at a very reasonable price too. This is perhaps the only hotel that provide guest with a hot and normal water dispenser (drink all you can). The hotel is clean and well maintained. Did I tell you that we stayed at 17th floor and the water pressure was so strong/high that we enjoyed our bath time. The location is perfect! As for the hotel rate, I would say value for money. Thank you Janet Chhin, Kiren, Irene (sorry can't remember all the names) and everyone for making our stay so enjoyable. The good: Value for money. Room is generally clean, water pressure is ok, air conditioning is decent. Wifi speed is decent. Bedsheet is clean. Has water dispenser in the room so there is no need to boil water with kettle.
The bad: Buffet breakfast choice is limited. Food is average. Tea cup in the room was wet, has sugar stains where the cup was sitting on. Tea spoons has water stains on them, which makes it look kind of gross. Guests do not practise SOP in lifts... a few times there were 7 or 8 people squeezed into the lift. 1 out of the 3 lifts were under maintenance in the 3 days that I stayed there, making the wait time for them rather long.

Have been sent here for my 14 days quarantine stays upon arrival at Johor. The services is great and i'm quite impressed with their staffs's patience in try to accomodate all different kind of requests from guests. Besides, their chef is really passion in cooking by serving delicious meals and creative desserts.
The wifi speed might a bit slow. Hence, if you are required to work from home, strongly recommend to get a prepaid sim card for better connection. And the room condition so far is clean though there are some holes on the curtain and there are no mineral water provided in room, and only with a alkaline water dispenser. For people who prefer bottled mineral bottle, may ordered the delivery from food panda. The hotel staff will help with the room delivery according to the delivery schedule.
Lastly, kudos to the whole Trove Team for trying their best maintaining a great services and standard despite this covid period!

Check in was easy on Christmas Eve around 1.30 pm.. Guy said keycards will be issue at 3 pm, hotel policy. At the next counter, Gal were issuing keycards to guests who came after me. Guests checking in at Gal counter were issued keycards without hesitation. I got my keycards after my wife confronted the Guy, (around 2.30 pm) Person in charge at breakfast was doing a good job, assigning diners to a overcrowded restaurant. The 2 young men at the main entrance help me with my transport arrangements.

I have stayed in various hotels prior to my arrival at TROVE during my stay of 10 days quarantine. I was rather skeptical of the service the hotel might be able to render during pandemic period. There were many hassle and time taken procedures which made the all waiting to be cleared and check in a stress one. Well accepting the fact that the pandemic has taken away many joyful thoughts and feelings. But to be Frank and sincere in the way the staffs have handled the pandemic situation and treated us was amazing. They have been very kind and patient and always ready to assist and provide service. Infact they went the extra miles to make sure that we are all are fine and comfortable within the confined walls to complete the mandatory quarantine period.
I am saying this because few of friends who under went the quarantine period in and other countries did share that the hospitality was not good.
My heartfelt thanks and appreciation is greatly extended to everyone in this Trove hotel. A very special thanks to a friend Mr. Firdaus the Chef. I happened to meet Chef Firdaus by chance and in a gesture he looked very young for his vast experience. He had a very kind heart like a mother who takes care of her children. He took care of us. Few names to be mentioned, Janet, Subra, the team from house keeping and the front line staffs my thanks to you all for your ☆☆☆☆☆ stars services. May God bless you all and keep you all safe and healthy to always serve the travellers who are coming in every now and then.

on arrival, parking was ok, check in counter wasnt warm, enquired if hotel able to assist to freeze EBM (expressed breast milk), outright rejected coldly, asked if could help to freeze ice pack to bring back the milk as im driving back to another state few hours away, also rudely rejected by staff name Linda. they have a small minibar to store milk but how am i supposed to bring it back without frozen ice pack. so NOT breast feeding friendly hotel. also bad first impression. other than that, room is basic, floor is laminated flooring, window facing side of another building. amenities basic, clogged basin, i couldnt be bothered to get it fixed due to staying one night only. air cond fortunately was cold. positive: water filter dispenser in room with hot water function had event in the hotel and lunch/dinner catered at their buffet dining area. variety limited, flavour and taste ok but repetitive. buffet breakfast selection limited and roti canai looks cold and hard so skipped it.
overall if you r travelling for work and breast feeding, not recommended if u just want to stay in basic hotel then no issues. i wouldnt return

Housekeeping As we are in quarantine, housekeeping can only help in replenishing whatever we requested. This has been prompt and efficiently led by Mr Amir
Food Chef Firdaus culinary skills is excellent. To be able to accommodate the daily needs and constant demands of the customer and produce good quality food is a challenge during normal times. He did it so well that my needs are catered perfectly.
F&B Excellent work done by Mr Subra team to efficiently make it on time on schedule for all items to arrive for all guest.
Front Office Mr Kiren & team responsive reply to the WhatsApp grp request and demand is very commendable.
Being quarantined is like going to jail. People are constrained and demands are high. More so because of the locked up feelings. Trove team has done an excellent job in making it less painfull by their diligence and patience in catering for this grp of people.

Would want to come here again someday! Booked for Deluxe Twin Room but please take note it is single beds unlike the normal which is queen beds. The room is abit thin that you can hear the next door sound if it's abit loud.
Was quite surprised the room is advanced! With water dispenser instead of the normal kettle. Just that the normal temperature will still dispense a bit of hot water.
Breakfast served was not much of a variety. I guessed this needs to be improve.
Complimentary carpark ticket is provided upon request. It's just that a bit of troublesome when you have to go to the reception counter to request for a complimentary carpark ticket, they will somehow scan on it but then you still have to go to the ticket machine to exchange for the free tickets.
Requested for birthday decor in the room. I was assisted by Saravanan. He mentioned that payment needs to be settled first in order for the decor to be done. Quite skeptical at first but then he said he engaged outsource to do it. And so i provided my card details.
He was efficient enough to give me his hp no.for fast response as my booking is just the next day yet my plan is still not finalised. Indeed he settled it fast and efficient! Credits to him! I requested a complimentary birthday cake. But sadly they don't have/never provide. He said he will provide something else. And so I was surprised and overwhelmed on what he had prepared for us. A treat that is way better then a cake!
