We arrived by small powered skiff after a one and a half hour trip from Maroantsetra. Offloaded in light surf and made our way to our cabins. Our lodging was right on the beach and was charming. We spent our days hiking through the national forest and returned to Tampolo each evening for dinner and sleep. The beds were comfortable,... More

Simple clean bungalows, w/o hot water but with a great hot water bucket system. The food is simple but tasty. What makes the space spectacular is the beach, which is large, sandy and deserted, perfect chill out and cool down place after a long hike. 45mins walk away from the park.

I had three nights here followed by one night camping on Nosy Mangabe. The location on the beach with good snorkelling nearby is fantastic, and my room was well designed and very comfortable, given the remoteness of the location. Staff were friendly and my guide was very good. But a few niggles. The food was distinctly average. I had steak... More

Tampolodge is a back to nature accommodation. Our grandson was able to find lots of critters right outside our cabin. . . Including chameleons. Our guide, Fidelis Elysee Velomasy, arranged transportation by boat from Maroansetra. He also brought our cook and she did a great job. Hikes in the Forrest both day and night were so interesting. If you're going... More

We spent three nights at Tampolodge with everything included in the rate – accommodation, guide, transport from the airport (via car then ferry), and food. Our guide, Claret, was absolutely amazing – very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, full of interesting stories about Madagascar, and quite friendly. We hiked to the primary forest and had a great time. However,... More

We found ourselves in the fortunate position of being alone with a cook and a guide here. We loved it so much we conceived our first child here on our honeymoon. Everything from the freshly roasted coffee beans to the beautiful sunsets and walks along the beach was perfect. We would nip off in the morning before it got too... More

We went for 5 nights and it was not enough to appreciate the lodge and its surroundings. Beautiful sunset on a peaceful beautiful beach ! what else will you need? Birds songs will wake you up in the morning. Back to real life.... Tampolodge is the best spot to discover Masoala Park and Tampolo Marine Reserve: its coralreef is still... More

A boat ride away from the nearest town and located right on the beach, with the Indian Ocean to swim in and stars to sleep under. The camp has been added to with en suite cabins - and, although there is no hot water in the tap, the staff bring round buckets of the steaming stuff once you're back from... More

Paradise lost…although it looks like it will be found soon, with several hotel developments underway along this stretch of Antogil Bay. The boat ride across was a little choppy but soon forgotten when we arrived at Tampolodge. A 30-minute walk from the area's main patch of primary rainforest the lodge is surrounded by secondary rainforest, which also yielded plenty of... More
