My partner and I only stayed here for one night, but had an overall positive experience at the Turkestan hotel. The staff were really friendly, we were allowed to check in at 8am rather than the usual 12pm as we arrived so early, despite not having given them any notice. The room was big and ensuite, quite clean and had... More

Stayed with my family of 4, one night. This place is great value for money. Perfect location - all taxis know the Green Bazaar which is right across the street from the hotel. The hotel is simple but clean: clean white sheets and towels, they provide soap and shampoo. A small fridge and TV in the room. Free Wi-Fi. Sauna... More

The location of this hotel is really great! Right in front of the Green Market where you can buy great fruits and nuts, also many exchange offices around. On the down side they have recently start charging for internet which is not really normal for a budget hotel. Breakfast is horrible! Please do not order this! It is bad and... More

This hotel locates opposite green bazaar, which is a must see for tourists in Almaty. It is close to tourist attractions in Almaty. When I arrived, staffs there could not speak english, but they were helpful when I asked for something. The room I had was ok. I had a very good view of green bazaar and Tian Shan Mountains.... The hotel is just opposite to the Green Market. Rooms are a bit small but clean and tidy. WIFI is available at a reasonable rate. Plenty of budget restaurants around and a supermarket is just round the corner. The surrounding is a bit messy with hawkers but I felt quite safe. No problem with the AC and hot showwer. Breakfast... For a city known for its ridiculously overpriced hotels, this is a real find! For about $40 for a double room it is reasonably clean, and has the basics of what you need. It is not badly located for some shops (not too many restaurants close by though) and is on the right side of the city for a quick... More

This hotel can be the cheapest in Almaty while remaining in the center. So it is very good value for rmoney. In terms of service, it depends on your luck. Hotel Turkestan is located close to the Green Bazaar and has a good walking distance to the city center. The rooms are basic, clean but could use some facelifting. For a budget-conscious traveller used to hostels and cheap guest houses, this place works just fine. The double room was 6500t per night and worked perfectly for a few days in... More
