I stayed here two nights. I decided on this hotel because it was near the fish market where I wanted to gorge on seafood at, because it was a short walk from Aomori station, and because it had its own onsen. The hotel is pretty old but the room was still in a good state. It was quite a big room for Japan. The highlight was the onsen, which, though open to the public, was big enough - with both outdoor and indoor baths - that it didn’t feel crowded. I had breakfast both days and it was just okay - a moderate selection with slight variation from day to day. The “restaurant” was more like a canteen so it wasn’t very charming. The whole key fob system was also confusing and a pain (coz I kept forgetting it): along with the door key, you get a fob that’ll let you access both the onsen and the breakfast canteen.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I used their onsen (aka public bath/spa) service (日歸) and this is perfect! Things can be stored in the coin lockers. Body soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided. Towels can be rented at a very reasonable price. They have several indoor onsens and one outdoor onsen, each heated at different temperature with different minerals that is said to have health benefits. It feels so good. After onsen, one can go to the restaurant, or there is a tatami-matted hall for rest. It's so thoughtful as people may feel a bit dizzy after onsen so a comfotable space to rest is very helpful. If I go to Aomori again, I will definitely visit this onsen. It is a good local experience at a very affordable price. Highly recommended.

We are a small ski group visit to Aomori Hakkoda every year. My friends found this hotel last year. So we booked on their official Japanese website a few months ago. This hotel is the best and cost effective that we found in Aomori at the moment . We all enjoyed onsen a lot which located second floor. Room was small but with comfortable jepanese style. I really love the bed mattress sooooooooo much, of course bed lines as well. Basic bath amenities were offered in small bathroom. Meanwhile, All staffs are kindly and helpful. I would like specially thank a hotel staff who named Nakajima, he was very kind and offered a huge assistance via around 20 emails before we arrival. And also a front desk staff who is speak English and ware glasses, tall and thin man, so sorry didn’t remember his name, he helped a lot as well when we arrived hotel in the late night. We definitely will back to this lovely hotel next year! Btw, apologize for my late comments.

This hotel is a 10 min walk from JR Aomori station, but it is a bit difficult to find as the entrance is in a back street, and the hotel reception is on the second floor. Staff are friendly and professional, although English is not widely spoken. The hotel is also an onsen, and they provide in room yukata for attending the spa. We did not realise before arriving that the onsen is actually open to the public so it is not just for hotel guests. This may be an issue if you are not comfortable with naked bathing. However, this is a typical Japanese experience that should not be missed. Tattoos are not allowed in the onsen. Breakfast is included but we didn't use it as the Aomori fish market is almost next to the hotel, which has amazing fresh seafood, especially crab, ikura and uni. Room was a decent size for a Japanese hotel. Fittings and finish are standard Japanese - self contained wet room with shower and bath tub, twin beds and also tv, coffee making facilities, and free wifi. We had a good stay here and can recommend to anyone wanting a centrally located hotel in Aomori.

This looks like a newer hotel about 6-9 minute walk from the station. Be sure you know where you are going because it is not on a major street. We paid more than what a standard business hotel room would be in Japan. However, that included the use of the onsen spa (traditional Japanese hot springs bath), which is large and very nice, as well as a buffet breakfast, consisting of mostly Japanese and some Western foods. Extensive choices. The room itself was bigger than the standard 2-bed small rooms in Japanese business type hotels, and the bathroom and tub were bigger as well. The high-tech washing toilet had a remote control for ease of use. Other features: free wi-fi, pajamas, water heater, tea, big screen TV, well lighted, room to store luggage, an adequate closet, a sofa, and a small desk. Very functional and new looking. Staff were polite, helpful and friendly, even though English might be somewhat limited. We had no communication problems. Will definitely consider staying here again when in Aomori.
