I've become more aware of foreign visitors (Chinese) with there bad mannerism and their lack of understanding on how to use the onsen or public baths in Japan. The normal way to use the bath is to first wash yourself with soap and water. These are located on the perimeter of the soaking baths. On several occasions (spent 3 nights... More

If you are heading to Aomori for the nebuta festival, chances are, you'll have a hard time booking hotels. I found that out this year when i tried 5months before the festival in August. All dates were blocked by all the hotels and when i emailed the hotels, i found out that all of them had outsourced the reservation from... More

My son and I had two adjacent rooms for one night, 7000 yen per room per night booked through booking.com.This included a very basic breakfast. Excellent location, across from the Aomori station. The Shin-Aomori shinkansen station is about 15 minutes by train, This is an old basic business hotel with small rooms and minimalistic bathrooms. The bed was very very hard... More

It's kind of crazy to think that the last bus to Lake Towada leaves at 1pm. But it does. So when I got off the train at 3, I found I needed someplace to stay the night. The staff at the JR visitors center found me a place that was right across from the train station. The rooms were tiny... More

This hotel is clean and tidy. It reflect the standard its kind, as usual room bit small but have all the facilities and ammenities you want. For future advice, you can buy winter gadget and attires at cheap price as pit stop at aomori before proceed to sapporo for ski and ice festival.

We weren't expecting a long train delay, so instead of being unsure when the train would leave, we decided to spend the night in Aomori. We normally stay at Toyoko Inns, but the one closest to the train station was full. We wound up going next door to the Route Inn. Luckily they had a couple of rooms. The hotel... More

We asked for a bigger room when we checked on, which turned out to be a good idea, as the room was fairly large by Japanese standards. It's a 2minute walk from the station and the staff were friendly, although they speak broken English. The Japanese public bath was great and the included breakfast may seem a little strange to Western people,... Close to Aomori station, plenty of restaurants, convenience stores and post office near by (good for foreign currency cards). Room furnishings a bit old but perfectly comfortable and serviceable. Room was warm despite 2m of snow outside!!

This hotel is ok for an overnight stop but I would not suggest longer stays, rooms are very small. It is conveniently located at the front of the station, but rooms are well insulated so you cant really hear the trains. My room was facing the train station on 2nd floor and i could not hear any outside noise. They... More
