Although Patio may seem a little away from Dogo Onsen Station, it's actually not a disadvantage in my opinion. It's just behind Dogo Onsen Main Building, making it the perfect hotel if you want to visit Dogo Onsen Main Building multiple times during your stay. Within just 100 meters, there are several stores that offer delicious savory snacks and desserts like Jakoten (fish cake), cake roll, mochi, as well as a tavern to enjoy beer and some snacks. If you want to visit Dogo Onsen Annex Asuka-no-Yu or Dogo Onsen Tsubakinoyu, they are both pretty easy to access from the hotel. The location of Hotel Patio Dogo is unbeatable. The room is not large but sufficient for travelers with luggage. If you want to stay a little away from the station and get closer to Onsen, this is your perfect choice.…
This hotel was better than a business hotel. Bathrooms was nice and the bedroom was relatively large compared with other hotels in Japan. The staff was very helpful and polite. Location was fantastic, I definitely recommend this hotel.
Stayed for one night on a B&B basis in a small but comfortable, clean room. Facilities are adequate. Breakfast was an eclectic mix of Japanese and Western food. Lots of litchis! It is well situated for the busy town, Dogo Onsen (walk across in your yukata and shoes which are provided). Very busy hotel.
The Patio Dogo is in an excellent location for seeing two of Matsuyama’s main sights – the historic Dogo Onsen and Matsuyama Castle. My wife and I stayed here for one night in mid-May, and recommend it for a short visit. It is easily reached from the JR station by way of a tram that stops within walking distance to the hotel through a covered shopping arcade full of restaurants and shops. The same tram makes a stop withing walking distance of the castle. The hotel is just steps from the picturesque old onsen, and our room included admission to the bath. The comfortable lobby area had a nice view of the onsen building, which was particularly attractive at night. Our room (714) was small but well-appointed with a desk, small fridge, arm chair and table, and a comfortable queen bed that had to be pushed to one wall to fit the room, and so there was only one night stand and access to the wall side of the bed was somewhat restricted. There was a small open closet. A plus of our room was that it had a partial view of the onsen and the surrounding square. Wifi was ok, but somewhat weak. The bathroom was good-sized with a tub/shower combo and a small amount of counter space. The set breakfast was Japanese only and was a bit light. In summary, the Patio Dogo is a pleasant hotel in a terrific location and is a good choice for a short visit to Matsuyama.…
The hotel is located right next to the famous Dogo Onsen. The room was rather small and very basic (western style). The bed was relatively comfortable but the pillows were not, being very hard. There is parking but it's not free (~800¥). You just get a place to sleep, not more, and that's a very good hotel for travelers looking for that.
