Stayed one night, our room had a view of the castle and looked great at night. Its a modern hotel that could do with updating. The Hotel and room was clean and comfortable, staff are friendly and helpful, they spoke some English. A good night with no problems.
Standard room was really disappointed for 4 stars hotel. It needs renovation. We stayed before in Mystays hotel in Osaka which was lovely, nice decorated, very modern. Here not….. In my opinion, for its quality overpriced. We choice it because walking distance location to conference center.
The Hotel is adequate for my needs on a business trip but I would not stay here with my wife. The room I stayed in is small with a small bathroom. Just functional for a person on their own. The breakfast is adequate but not fantastic as some reviews would have you believe. I have eaten in the attached restaurant once on an evening (La Terrazza)and I have to say there are better places in town which is a short walk away. The location of the hotel is good and very close to the town and opposite the castle.
The myStays hotel is OK, but not great. Rooms and bathrooms are very small and beds are not the most comfortable. Be aware that a standard room is a smoking room. These rooms stink and are not the sort of room you want to sleep in. So specifically ask for a non-smoking room and go outside if you are a smoker yourself. Staff is very friendly, but lack any basic English skills, which is a challenge when you want something done. Restaurant La Terazza is very good, but quite loud when a group eats there. I would say price/quality is OK, as the upscale hotels in Matsuyama are rather pricey.
The hotel is a landmark 12 storey building positioned on the main bus & tram lines 100m from Shiroyama Park & a short walk to the Matsuyama Castle. We upgrade to a park view on the 11th floor for ¥300, best move we ever made. The hotel has an in-house laundry that guests can use for ¥300 per cycle & a cloths dryer is also available at ¥100/cycle. The restaurant is excellent value with a full lunch buffet for ¥1500 or a la carte if you prefer. Dinner option range from ¥1950 for the Set tapas style with a gluten free option available if you ask. Front counter is a little light on with English speakers, but we were still able to communicate & get general answers to simple questions. The room was clean , with a very comfortable double bed. Local attractions within 5 minutes walk included Shiroyama Park, Matsuyama castle & one of the largest covered malls I’ve ever seen. …
We spent two nights here and enjoyed our stay. Your are located close to the tram stop which can get you to all the main attractions. The Castle is just opposite the hotel. Check in was efficient and the room was clean. The hotel restaurant serves good food.
Nice hotel 10 minutes walk away from the station and about 15 minutes from the city center (Okaido). Rooms are ok, average size for Japan. I would recommend it if you are going to go on trips to other towns like Uchiko, Uwajima, etc.
We rent a room for 3 people. The room was spacious for us and our big luggages. They equipt us with water heater and the bathroom was great. The room was very clean. The location is also strategic. They’re walkable distance from JR and matsuyamashi station, also tram stop Nishihoribata. They give us room with a castle view! Fantastic
Hotel is located near castle, so some of rooms are castle view. Trams would stop just next to hotel. Yet, this is just walking distance to town. Maximum 15-20 mins to trains station and town center. Although it is note located at the heart of the city, it is not inconvenient. Check in is smooth, room is not big but not too small. Interior is a bit outdated but renovated. Thus, you can not find a USB socket on wall plug. Wifi speed is good, view is good. Thanks for giving me a castle view room without extra charge. My room didn't include a breakfast, so I can't make any comments. At last, staff is very nice and helpful to provide accurate suggestion and information on the traffic.
9 mins walk away from JR Matsuyama station. -The tram station is just outside the hotel . Using the tram you can access the ropeway to the castle in 9 mins and Dogo Onsen area in around 20 minutes. -We got a standard queen size room with a view of the castle hill. The room was of a decent size and had all the furnishings and trappings you would expect from a typical business hotel in Japan. It was extremely clean and soundproofing was terrific. Wifi also worked well. - The hotel staff was professional and courteous, the reception counters looked adequately manned at all times, and the process of check-in/check out was very smooth. All our requests for directions and/or help with our car booking in the city were promptly addressed. - Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. Ingredients tasted fresh and were of good quality and both the japanese and western entrees were competently executed. They also had a station serving a "special" breakfast dish of the dad and as this dish varies from day to day so you won't get bored staying at the hotel for multiple nights. Having stayed in numerous 3-4*business hotels in our multiple visits to Japan, I must say this is definitely one of the best breakfast buffets I have had in this category of hotels. The only negative I experience was that upon check in I was extremely hungry and wanted to have dinner at the hotel's in-house restaurant Setouchi Bar La Terraza. However the restaurant had no English menu (this was in last week of November 2018 and the restaurant was very new) and the waitstaff did not speak much English,so we had to find somewhere else to eat. - We paid a very good rate by booking more than 3 months ahead. - We were very delighted with the hotel overall and would not hesitate to return to this hotel if coming back to Matsuyama.…
