The Nest Hotel in Matsuyama is in a very good central location to major sites, shopping and eating out. The staff are very professional and friendly, the room I stayed in was of average standard but it had all your needs for a good stay. The breakfast has a good range of Asian & Western options and opens early at 6.30am. Walking distance to Matsuyama Castle or a quick tram ride to Dogo area, only 120 yen. Happy to recommend and happy to stay there again.
The quality of stay was average. 1. Location: it is near a tram stop but if you take a bus from the Airport/Port/cities around, it takes around 10 minutes to walk from the main shopping street Okaido. 2. Check-in: Waiting time is a bit long. 3. Room: The toilet has some drainage smell, despite still okay for me. But it was spacious. Not enough sockets for electronic appliances. WiFi is slow. But well, it is still reasonable for a few night of stay.
The location of the hotel was perfect for our needs, since we were able to explore Matsuyama castle and its vicinity as well as Dogo onsen just by getting out the door and walking there. However, the room was in slightly shabby condition, with a noticeable section of the floor carpet having been torn off but hidden under the bed just out of sight. It was also quite heated in the room and the air conditioning could not really be used to cool off the air, which was unfortunate. No complaints with the customer service whatsoever.
This hotel is a bit old on outlook but it is fairly good enough for the room. I cannot but appreciate its breakfast buffet which has great variety of food to select and the quality is good. Room is clean and staff is nice and helpful. Will surely stay again for the unexpected breakfast.
Nest Hotel Matsuyama is located at walking distance from Okaido shopping area and the access to Matsuyama castle. From Okaido in front of Mitsukoshi department store, guests can take the limousine bus to/from the airport for 610 yen. The hotel facilities are a little dated but working well. Staff is friendly and efficient. In Okaido, you can find restaurants, bars and coffee shops. 3 convenience stores are located just around the hotel corner. Tram lines stop in a few hundred meters from the hotel.
simple hotel with simple rooms, many restaurants in the vicinity, staff were friendly and helpful. a little rundown room (stains on the carpet, bed console dirty, metal rusty...) we've been offered. bathroom is very small, a tall person can hardly sit comfortably on the toilet.
I stayed at the Nest Hotel for three nights. I have stayed at many business style hotels throughout Japan and this was the best one I have stayed in so far. The room was clean, relatively spacious and modern. The bathroom was small and nothing special but it did the job. There were some complimentary products provided including tooth brushes, razors and hair brushes. The staff were friendly, polite and made in check-in and out smooth. In terms of location, you can't go wrong really. It is only a few minutes walk from Okaido shopping street which has lots of eateries and shops- surprisingly popping at the weekend. On foot to some of the other major tourist attractions it was just 15 minutes to Matsuyama Castle, 25 minutes to Dogo Onsen and 40 minutes to Ishite-ji Shrine. If I return to Matusyama, I will have not hesitation in rebooking this hotel.…
It's a business hotel and big enough for a solo traveler like me. It's located in the center of the city and can walk to the major shopping area and Matsuyama castle, also very convenient to get to the public transportation. The hotel staff were professional, but rather robotic. They can be friendlier. I really wish that there was coffee, so that I could have enjoyed drinking a cup or two in the morning. There was only green tea available.
We really enjoyed our time in Matsuyama. The hotel was well orientated, everything was close, including shops, city center, trams, buses, and the airport limusine bus too! (Okaido stop) and the castle of course. The room was very nice and clean. Cleaning was available until 2 pm, which is very flexible for the sleepy ones :) At the reception everyone was kind and helpful. English was not a problem.
This is one of those rare hotels that have a reasonable price for a real treat. Oke, a 15 m tram-ride from Dogo Onsen (so what?), walking distance from tram-stop. But then, connecting K-mart and Lawsons you enter the huge building, where the friendly staff smiles amidst a real, 3 or 4 star lobby. The room (603) is for Japanese standards spacious and clean (this is japan). Green tea/water heater is waiting, minibar, onsen/bath, kimono's etc. the wifi is strong on the room. This is my place!! Next time i'm here again!!
